Yup, thats right, I said it, so hear this out.
As a raiding hunter, it is obvious that in order to give it your absolute all, you must follow the guidelines and trust the theories of those around you in game and in these forums. The tested and proven theory is that BM is really, REALLY good dps for raiding. It is also obvious that in order to go through progression in 25 mans you must give it your all. This makes the ravager king for really, REALLY top of the line dps for a BM hunter.
We old hunters have gone through many different nerfs, pets doing shadow damage, 1.0 attack speed, 120 resists to all, the super speed av frost wolf with dash = instantly to an enemy on an epic mount. All these have been vaporized by the all mighty blizzard nerf bat. I ask now, why did it stop there? Pets do all kinds of different damage, -10% on the boar to +10% on the ravager. My request is that pets have been normalized so much that blizzard should normalize the damage so hunters aren't forced, obligated, or feel like they are cheating the raid by not giving it their all because spanky the gorilla can't dish out the dps on a raid compared to spiky the ravager.
I feel that if pets all had the same damage the need to go for the golden pets to progress would diminish.
I know that someone in here is going to give me some ludicrous math on how much actual dps you would lose on a fight from the difference of 2 pets comparing the time of battle, gore and claw, with kill command spam and all the likes with the universe and the number 42 put in there someplace, but I'm talking of the progression of barely getting that mob down so that the gear is given and used by the raid so next time making the next kill easier therefore putting it on farm status and bringing the next mob into progression mode. You can give me those numbers, but we have all been at the seemingly legendary endless 1% of that mob and if your pet is still ticking on it while you are oom because you ran out of pots or are on cooldown, you can be thankful that the pet is still giving it his or her all too.
