Unless you are specced into Beast Mastery and taken the Improved Mend Pet talent, you can't so you have to just wait it out.

To clarify: If you're a hunter and your dog has gotten Rabies this is not the place to ask for help. You're better off with going to a vet.

However, if you are playing WoW: What Synn said.

Regular mend pet will not cure disease? Never knew that

Yup, check the regular mend pet tool-tip and the Improved Mend Pet talent info. Regular mend does just that - mend. It's only when you go into talent points that it adds chances to cleanse curse, disease and poison effects.

I never really thought about that either, until I made a second hunter on the opposite faction of my original one. Just one more reason to spec BM :)

Yeah, that cure-all (decurse, cure disease, cure poison) is wonderful. Pets with those sorts of debuffs don't work nearly as well as tanks. I can pull aggro too easy.

A skilled hunter should be able to pull aggro from anything but uses his skill to make sure he never does. you can take the mobs and let others get away when it all goes bad, then FD to avoid a wipe. But to most of the rest all we do pew-pew

To cure your pet of rabies you need to spec Imp mend pet in the beast mastery talent tree.

I have say I really find Improved Mend Pet a great talent. With two points in it, it means you are curing your pet of the ill effects of curse, disease, magic or poison very quickly. With the five ticks of mend pet over the 15 secs you have a 96% chance of curing you pet of what ails it.

Couple this with my Dwarven Stoneskin racial, neither my pet or myself are suffering from poison or diease for long.

Wow, and to think I only put points into imp mend pet to have my pet take on an extra mob.

Now what? Are you going to tell me The Beast Within removes all CC effects?!

That and TBW makes you fashionably red. And, as we all know, red things move faster.
