Elemental Pre-Kara Gear ListFollow

I made one of these lists for rogues and everybody seemed to like it. It also sparked some debate as to which pieces would be better for certain slots. Since I've recently been trying to gear up my ele shaman I decided to share the gear list I made as my own personal goal with you all.

There are only 4 pieces from heroics on this list, 2 each from Slave Pens and Underbog. I included the badges shield because it is such a huge upgrade over any blue you can get and in the process of running heroic UB and Slave Pens you should get at least the 33 badges the shield costs (unless you are very lucky on drops).

I also understand there are 4 pieces of PVP gear on the list, but they really are SO much better than any blues you can get for those slots it's well worth grinding the 72k honor you'll need for them.

This set of gear will put you at around 9k mana, approx 900 spell damage, and almost 37% to crit on lightning bolt self buffed with Wrath of Air and Totem of Wrath.

Yeah with this gear you get about 2% spell hit, I guess I should have included that.

That leaves you 2% from the cap. If you really want the spell hit cap swap out the Tidefury Helm and Chestguard for the Mask of Inner Fire and Worldfire Chestguard.

It will get you to the spell hit cap, while keeping your spell damage about the same and costing you 1-2% to crit.

I agree this is overkill to start Kara.

The only thing is other than tier gear there are exactly 2 pieces of mail caster DPS armor in all of T4 content.

There is the shield from Kara (and the badge shield, which is better) and there are the boots from Gruul.

When you are done with T4 content, if you add in the upgrades to rings, trinkets, cape, and neck along with all of the tier gear, you will probably still have blue bracers and belt if you want to be wearing mail (unless you got the epic PVP gear for those slots).

This really isn't a problem as I sandboxed a shaman in all the kara, tier 4, and badge gear and they came out with ~1100 spell damage and ~40% to crit self-buffed.

I just post this for people who are curious about an upgrade for a certain slot or people who are just getting to 70 and need to know where the best gear for each slot is.

I admit there are other options for each slot, but a lot of them are a severe dropoff in either crit of spell damage.
