So my shaman was resto for the longest time because my guild was short healers for a 2nd Kara group and our Gruul's group. I had put together a decent set of healing gear (around +1300 healing with only the T4 helm), but it was boring.

My guild went on a recruitment drive and actually found enough healers where I could start raiding on my rogue, and the shaman got put to the side.

Recently my rogue has gotten to the point where he doesn't need any more gear from 5-mans and is basically dependant on Kara/Gruul's for upgrades. On the nights when we weren't raiding I found myself with little to do.

I decided to respec my shaman and try and get him geared up to do Kara as enhance. I had gotten random off-spec epics while doing Kara/Gruul's as resto, so I had the Decapitator, the Rip-Flayer Legs, and the epic mail shoulders from Kara. I had fun grinding daily quests as enhance but realized my 63 DPS offhand was holding me back and I hate BGs so grinding for an S1 MH axe was out of the question.

I realized I had a couple nice ele epics as well (shield from Kara, Windshear Boots from Gruul) so I respecced him to an ele PVE build and started doing 5-mans with him.

Man, was that fun. I did a normal Bot the other day with a pally tank, pally healer, rogue, and fire mage. We cleaered Bot in about 35 minutes and I topped the damage charts with only about 500 spell damage, although I did have a decent 27% lightning crit.

My goal is to have my shaman geared out in the best pre-Kara stuff so that when my rogue is done with Kara I can start doing it with my Shaman. I know I could go into Kara right now with my shaman, but ele sham itemization in Kara is horrible and my rogue still needs a couple (5 or 6 lol) upgrades from there.

So I want to get the best pre-Kara MAIL ele shaman gear I can so he is ready to go when the rogue is done. I put together a nice little list together that should put me at 900 spell damage, 33% lightning crit, and spell hit capped self-buffed (ToW and WoA) so he'll be ready to go to Kara and melt faces.

I just wanted to share this with everybody and let you guys know I'm actually having fun with my shaman again.

Being resto almost caused me to quit raiding.

I found raid healing incomparably boring and couldn't wait til my guild recruited healers so I could either respec my shaman or raid with my rogue.

When we got the healers we needed I realized my rogue was more Kara/Gruul's ready than my shaman was as either ele or enhance, so I went with the rogue.

Now the rogue is almost done with Kara, but I really like the instance so I had the choice of gearing up my shaman for either DPS spec or gearing my warrior to tank.

I decided to go with the shaman, although if I'm in LFG and I see a group looking for a tank for an instance my warrior needs I'll log over and do it.
