I'm not quitting wow, I've just decided that I'd rather play with my friends on my hunter's guild (progression gruul/mag/maybe SSC) more than I care about downing Illidan with a bunch of people I don't know... and frankly don't really care to get to know. Obsidium were really pro, but I never looked forward to doing things with them, but on my hunter I really got excited about raiding again. So anyway, I'm gonna still berate retnoobs as much as always, you just won't see any more posts in the paladin accomplishment thread :)

Why not just move your Pally? Unless your friends' guild is just really hrad up for Hunters and/or overstocked on Pallies.

It's always a lot more fun to play with people you know, in fact it can totally revitalize the entire game for you.

I've always found it more fun to play with people I don't know. That way I can keep WoW out of my real life time. If I go out to a movie, or hiking, or bowling or whatever, I don't want to sit around talking about WoW on the way.

Plus, my RL friends aren't nearly as hardcore as I am. (i.e. one had a level 55 as their highest character back when I had 3 level 60's)

They kinda are, plus I'm having a lot of fun being a hunter.

Dil - do you like your Hunter more than your Lock? I am thinking of starting an alt that has pets, and was leaning towards a warlock since I hear they can do more damage. But I'm pretty clueless on both classes...

It's always sucky to see a paladin walk away.

I do but its partly because I've never raided as a hunter. Locks are fun too, but I've done raids as a lock before (pre-BC) so that's nothing new.

Who told you this?

A lock is great DPS, however, (flame me if you will) with equal quality gear/player skill, a BM/MM hunter will normally top DPS charts. As a survival hunter I usually top the charts, that is with all the CC I always have to do. As a BM spec with my gear my tooltip DPS jumps almost more than 40 points, add in A LOT more pet damage, faster shots, BW, and the hunter class gets truely sick!

My main is a hunter and I dabble with my lock, both are fun, and both don't begin to come into their own until post 60.

*edit* I can't spell

everything ive read or seen suggests that destro warlocks have the highest . . ."potential" as far as damage is conserned.

where as most of the things that i have seen or read for hunters are . . . well . . .

Edit: Ive read or heard (prolly my roomate) that properly geared Destros can easily and regularly get +10k Crits in Raids. but thats all just random ramblings. everyone's 'main' always does more damage then every other class. . .

Reminds me of a Spoof comercial.

Lock for multi dps, Hunter for solo target. Much like Prot pally vs Prot Warrior for threat.

I had a 60 Hunter and a 60 Lock before I got talked back into playing WoW and rolled a Pally. Truth be told I had more fun on the Hunter, though I played my lock before there was a horror effect on death coil so I am sure things have changed.

We all go through ups and downs, hell I almost changed servers, then I almost quit the game and now I am having more fun that I have had in a long time. Prior to TBC I left the game for almost a year and went and raided EQII as well.

Sometimes you need a break, sometimes you need to ride it out and remember why you had fun in the first place. Only you can tell, at least you didn't decide to roll ret.

Equally geared destro lock vs bm hunter, lock should easily win provided he/she isn't threat capped. That's why in most raid situations bm hunters/rogues will be top dam as they can clear threat when needed.

Locks have, by a very significant margin, the highest DPS potential in almost all raiding. While Affliction doesn't scale as well into late game, the coefficients and procs associated with Shadow bolt as well as the ability to sync well with Spriest and fire mages allows the non-utility warlock (i.e. the one not putting up curse of shadows or elements) to easily top DPS and the utility warlock to do it through some effort. Most locks you see doing the 1-5 spots of DPS in raiding are doing it while maintaining a curse that is actually costing them 150+ personal DPS.

Don't know who you are but sorry to hear you're not going to play your pally. I will say this: Hunters are a dime a dozen in this game.
