brand new 70Follow

Hey guys. I just hit 70 lastnight on my pally. I was wondering if you would take a look at my armory page and look at my build. [b]http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Garona&n=Acine

Dont really pay attention to my gear cause I switch out a lot for tanking. With my tanking gear im sitting at 10100 hp unbuffed and 420d. But I am just wondering about a good build for tanking pre kara. I also hope to start tanking heroics soon so I can get my d up to 490. Any help would be awesome.

man you ruined my day. Dont you think I looked at that. Why would I want just one persons opinion? Im asking so alot of people will say what they think and I can put all that together. What I think is you were to lazy to look at it and just sent me there.

You realize how many people come here all the time having done no research? Don't patronize me you insufferable little prick.

It is almost indisputable that that build is the way to go for a 5man Tankadin as the Protection tree is so bloated there just isn't room to take anything else.

And "just one person's opinion"? You think Jack would have just made a thread and stickied it himself? A number of us gave him our feedback before it got sticked, and that's a big reason it was, is because it was agreed upon by multiple people to be good enough for a sticky: NOT because it was "one person's opinion". Try harder, please.

EDIT: just saw the post above mine, and this post may hurt my "nice guy" rep, but oh well. I have little tolerance for such things. And I'm in a bad mood >.>

Your build is pretty much cookie cutter right now... I don't know what it started with.

The wildcard talents are:

Precision, Spell Warding, Reckoning, Persuit of Justice

If you're interested in experimenting. I won't go into why they're wildcards, lots of that information all around already.

I know you aren't looking so much for gear comments.. but I've gotta say... You hit 70 and you don't have:

1. Contiuum Blade/Crystalforged Sword (KoT Revered/Wold Drop [Auctionable])
2. Timewarden's Leggings (KoT Revered)
3. Vindicator's Hauberk (Aldor Revered)

Those are serious pieces of gear and you might consider obtaining them right away (among others). You'll need the sword to keep spell damage up as you group with more geared DPSers, the Leggings are the best there is pre-Kara (and they come at the same rep as the Contiuum Blade) and the Hauberk is pretty much in the same boat (though it has 1 close rival).

I don't think I've *ever* had a char that wasn't Revered with Aldors/Scryers *before* hitting 70 and a Paladin especially should be bashin out the KoT rep. Rep gear is so easy to have waiting for you when you hit 70, and it can help immensely.

In all honesty to the OP, the guide is good but can be overwhelming to those reaching 70 for the first time. I can understand why you would want the more general help of a reply. You already have some.

From there I would just recommend going to WoWwiki. Look at the lvl 70 five men regulars. They have loot tables for each dungeons, make a list of items you want/need and try to pug/guild run for them. Pugs suck but you learn a lot, even if you learn what not to do.

Get your Kara attunment done while you are at it. Try to break the grind up with some daily quests for money (cause you will want that epic mount, believe me), some BG's such as AV and anything else you can do to not get burnt out when you have to pug.

The biggest advice I can give you is that 490 Def is the baseline, it is minimum spec. Remember you have to keep an eye on Stam, avoidance and everything else cause if you expect to get 490 Def and go in and roll Heroics you are kidding yourself.
