EDITED AGAIN!: it turns out the file apparently uploaded before the cut! DOWNLOAD NOW!

Liliath UI V1.5 is uploading as we speak/type/whatever! HERE!

This is my UI, any constructive criticism (not least because it makes the actual UI I use better) is much appreciated. It's been designed to strike a balance between PvP-designed UIs (which in my experience are very minimalist), which don't usually work for 'locks too well since we have stacks of buttons to use, and PvE UIs where raid frames and big flashing warnings are king, but often make it rather... cramped.

SCREENSHOTS:

An Ill-Fated Focus and DoTimer Test. My Cast Bar is normally just under the DoT Timer

The Aftermath, showing Party Frames and SCTD

Mind-Boggling Bars and Confusing Graphs

Widescreen Test

DOWNLOAD LINK:

LUI V1.5!

Thanks for looking.

NOTE: yes, that's my player frame up there, I don't usually need to target myself with my macros so I may as well have a nice rep/buff bar.

interesting ui, seems to cover everything that's needed, being dot counters, focus info, player, pet and target info. cd's, etc... while still being fairly spacious. nothing really to improve on other than just personnal preferances.

only thing i kinda dislike is how almost everything you need to concentrate on (debuffs/omen/focus etc..) are at the bottom of the screen. personnaly I prefer having all the important info in the middle around my hud, so i never have to look far from my view to get what i'm after.

I'll see what I can do as to moving that stuff up a bit. If I re-release it'll definitely be closer to hand.

On another note, can anyone think of anything else to go in the clock spot in the top-right, and the top action bar area?

a range meter, maybe?
When i play demo i am always interested about the estimated range of my target.
And where would the pet bar be?

How far up will the debuff slots expand upwards?

I use a notebook and my resolution is 1200x800 widescreen, but i am really interested in your UI keep up the good work. I´ll let you know what i need.
Maybe a few more actionbar-slots for pots would be nice.

The Debuff slots expand upwards as far as possible, but they only show your buffs so the most you could realistically get is 6/7.

Pet Bar is shown already in the first screenshot, between focus and target. Below that is pet frame.

I've taken Jen's advice and tweaked it to be more focused around the centre, though it looks a bit lop-sided when nothing's being focused.

Action-bar wise, I could display more in the room that was previously filled up with random crap. However, I have Geist installed, which pops up nifty spare action bars while I hold delete. Fun. At the moment I have more pets, summoning, Soulwells and more on it.

Here's a pic of what I'm now using. I think I may be finally satisfied with it (but not for long! xD)

When I release the next version I'll be sure to make it for both 1200x800 and 1280x1024. 1024x768 and below will probably not be able to fit it, but 1200x800 should only need to be a minor adjustment.

Good-looking UI. Not quite as good as mine...but it's good. Smiley: grin

I like the new version. The older one felt kinda cramped.

I really like the pet setup.

Thanks for reading. I'll upload the new version as soon as I can get on my main and take a few screenshots of the new one.

It's not so much a V2 as a V1.5, but it's still a lot nicer to use than my original.

Nice. I just have to check that the two versions both work on an un-UI'd install then upload them.

EDIT 2: tested both versions, zipping and uploading screenshots to the first post as we speak.

Be warned, I'm running DBM here mainly because I don't want to inflate the insane number of AddOns any higher by installing separate auto-respond, Battleground and Boss Mods. If your guild uses BigWigs you should probably switch out to that.

Hopefully you use mostly Ace2 addons =)

Yep, practically all of them. I actually reference the WoWAce Updater in the readme. The UI apparently will upload by (EDIT: GOGOPOWERCUT! See original post for more details). Also, be warned, it's a BIG (50MB) file, due to it having two WTF directories inside for the two resolutions.
