Ya, uh I wanna make a mage bacuase I have been a paly and I cannot stand doing all the demening work. I havent rolled a rogue for two reasons I want the ability to say in truth I shot a fire ball into that guy's face, and there are too many of those @$$#O(&$. So I'm wondering on what race to choose Undead or Belf I kinda like the Belf toon look, but my friend who is an undead mage and said that will of the forsaken is uber pwnage and any mage that isnt undead is a noob. I am just wondering is this true.

What do you mean "demeaning work"?

No, no, no. He said "demening" work. Obviously, since he was a pally, it has to do with killing demens. Although I'm not sure how he is going to get around that as any other dps class...

Seriously though, play what you like the look of. Will of the Forsaken is nice, but hardly needed. And the blood elf aoe silence can be nice when you dive bomb a group in a bg. That said, if I had to roll another mage, it would be undead.

Actually, if we wanna get technical, he said "Demening" which if you consider the word, "men" and "de" meaning
Quote:
Remove or remove from;
Reduce; degrade:

Which means it's work that removes his manhood.

But seriously, OP, you couldn't find an answer to this question in a post because no one ever makes posts with properly descriptive titles anymore. Go with the race you'd most enjoy, as Zeynothix said. WotF is nice, but unless you have aspirations of extreme arena greatness, you can live without it.

Thank you both for not subdefaulting me and for the tips I figured as much but I wanted to be sure
PS when I said demening work I meant healing and tank I mean I know those are both extremely important roles in a raid I just wanted to get out of that eternal spiral and go kill stuff in PvP and shamans suck @$$ in PvP.

I bought TBC purely to roll a BE mage to replace my undead one, but instead rolled a BE Priest and am kinda meh with it. I got her to lvl 8 and went back to my undead mage. I prefer the unique look of the undead characters to the BE ones, they are something different and not the usual hawtness characters games get.

So pretty much what Ixidoria said...play what you like coz you will be looking at em for a looong time.

I've rolled 2 mages, one thats a draenai fire mage for the Gift of the Naaru - very useful when you need a quick heal...

the second is an Undead frost mage just coz I fancied a change from fire without respeccing and knew that Will of the Forsaken would come in very handy in fights especially pvp. Plus the undead look cool.

Just go with what you like the look of..
