Turn EvilFollow

Looking at the updated patch notes, there was actually something significant that affects all Paladins. Turn Undead will be renamed Turn Evil at Rank 3 and affect Demons as well. Now you can fear those pesky felpuppies away or other demons that are giving you problems.

I thought they where going to make it an 'incapacitate'.

it was in one of the leaked notes about what Blizz was 'wanting' to change in 2.4

changin Turn undead to turn evil was in it. they also mentioned it would be an incapacitate with a 10 sec pvp DR.

i hope they follow through. So my Ret pally can have at least some chance at a Heroic, as of now it doesnt matter how much damage i can do if i have no CC to bring. . . .

Well they mentioned that it would last 10 seconds in the notes with diminishing returns, but nothing about an incapacitate.

So I guess turn evil confirmed, incapacitate evil... unconfirmed.

Yea.. I was anxiously looking forward to when testing on this would begin to see how they were going to go about it, since there was a lot of hype from the leaked information that it would be an incapacitate. Bit of a let down seeing that it would still be a fear.

An incapacitate would be a significant advantage in PvE as well as PvP (even if it's not easily chainable by a single Pally with its CD). As they're testing it now, it's mostly a new anti-warlock PvP buff, though I suppose it may have some limited use in PvE.

Either way, I'll keep my eye on the patch notes as they update. Not too often something remains entirely the same all the way through the test for a major patch release.

It's a nice change.

Still wish it affected Forsaken, though.

Just about the only time I've ever used Turn Undead was right after I got it, just to try it out. Oh, yeah, and my first time in Shadowfang Keep. I wondered where all those adds kept coming from....

It's still pretty worthless in PvP. It's got a decent cast time (like three seconds?) and interrupting it also locks out your other Holy spells, so you don't gain a great deal.

There's a long explanation of why it doesn't, which I won't go into, but it has to do with the way things worked in Beta. Far better that it doesn't work on players then the alternative >.>

Anyway, all I have to say on the change is, "IT'S ABOUT TIME!!!" Remember when Exorcism and Holy Wrath only worked on undead? I thought it was pretty dumb that they didn't change Turn Undead when they changed those other 2, but now they are. I'm happy.

Can be useful on Moroes if you're light on priests and hunters in Karazhan.

This would be a great addition for those mana sucking fel-puppies at 2nd boss of Ramps.

1.5 seconds, the only time I would consider using it against demons are warlock pets. If you get it out quick enough it should work... hopefully maybe........please?

I swear, if by level 80, the damn Priests still haven't shared the secret of Shackle Undead, we need to excommunicate them from the Light.

An incapacitate limited to undead/demons still strikes me as one of the most narrowly constructed CC options in the game, but given what we have right now, I'd even be satisfied with a "root" spell that keeps them fixed in place or a "wing clip" that would slow them down.

A man can dream. /sigh.

It's one of those flavour spells, really, that are only there to flesh out a paladin's ability list. Changing it is a nice gesture, but it won't affect much outside of warlock duels and some ******** around in BGs. Good luck getting one off in arena. Waste of time.

While there is probably a list a mile long for pallys (and other classes) and talents to be looked at I also think (along the same lines) that repetance(sp?) needs to be looked at.

For a talent so far in the tree I'd expect something a bit better than that. If they dont want to give us a sheep or root like ability (as in buffing it to make it like sheep). Then I reckon they should make it trainable for all pallys and replace that talent with another form of an instant strike for ret.

Im loving playing ret right now but if we just had another instant attack other than CS it would be great :)

When I beat the house and seal of the casino goes off I do really well, other than that I need another attack to use please !!! :)

Oh, Repentance has uses. For one, it's another oh **** button. Repentance + Holy Light basically restarts the fight for you. As if we needed a fourth.

Oh dont get me wrong its a handly talent no doubt. But for something so deep in 1 tree I dont think its too much to ask for something a bit better.

Like I said why not give it to all pallys and replace that talent with another instant melee attack....or another idea I liked posted on the oboards is a mace/sword talent that has the chance of an extra attack.

Id still prefer another form of instant attack like CS though, just my preference really :)

Bingo. I felt leet doing Moroes the other day with the only effective CC (no priests/hunters FTW) being my fear (with fear/stun/fear you can get them for a good minute).

Until, of course, I feared it out of the room and reset the encounter. Doh!
