i just hit 70 and i went shadow step ambush, ( i dont like ) i have seen lots of rogues useing swords with shadowstep.
What spec and what kinds of weapons should i use?
ShS wrords? combat swords? combat maces? mutilate? im confused
can someone please post a good spec that i can work with. keep in mind i just hit 70 so im working on gear. 1 more thing, why after i vanish or stealth can pets of people still see me?

I'm going to guess you're talking PvP. In which case you probably have a DOT on you which will pop you back out of stealth when it ticks.
There's a slight chance that a ranged attack can start, you hit vanish, then the attack actually applies (someone called this a "lag-hit" once, makes sense to me) which would pop you out as well.
Or the players have any one of the available "better to see through stealth" goggles on. They're very common in 70 BGs.

ok, there are a few things that could be happening: 1) they have the goggles as mentioned above, 2) you could be referring to a warlocks felpuppy, or 3) it could be the classic stealth/vanish bug that has been around since I can remember.
In which case:
1) get behind them, they won't be able to see you as well or from as far.
2) felpuppy has a buff called paranoia(iirc) which increases it's stealth detection.
3) i'm not sure if they fixed this yet,(or if they ever will, "working as intended") but last time it happened to me, a hunter sent their pet after me and i vanished but their pet could still see me and kept on its course to me and proceeded to knock me out of stealth. I was not marked or DoT'ed in any way. It also happens with ranged attacks but it is highly likely that is a lag issue. I have no other suggestion but don't get caught by a hunter out of stealth.
