Better. More HP, yes, but back into the realm of an acceptable mana benefit.

short lived/or fake post or something.... now it's 20% for 20%.. just as bad as before, if not worse

I'll be checking the oboards after this but it's no different then before if it's true. The fact that a spell is being given a negative scaleing effect with the primary base stat of the class is just ******* retarded.

Hello new banker alt.

there actually wasn't any change in mana gained for me back at the 16% one. like 1.5k +dmg in raid, 11500hp 11500 mana. end result is near enough identical figures
yeah i gain more mana now (and a sizable increase too) but i feel sorry for the healers... lol

At 16% for you, Jen, you'll still be returning about 150 extra mana. Now at 20% you're looking at about 600 extra mana per tap.

They nerfed life tap before, then restored it back the way it was. This is their second attempt, so who knows if it might also be restored in the future.

all i know is that pvp locks with like 16k health and 9k mana are really f.ucked. like 3.2k health for like 1800 which is truely painful for us.
#33 Feb 28 2008 at 9:38 AM Rating: Decent
That's the point of the nerf, though. PvP locks getting Imp. Life Tap returns on their massive health pools were considered OP. I'm not going to sit here and try to argue that they are or aren't, but Bliz is trying to nerf THEM specifically while NOT nerfing the PvE locks, so it's taking some tweaking.

Wow... I have to disagree with you. We have gotten our fare share of nerfs. until recently Hunters were at the bottom of arena standing.

Alot of classes are getting buffed/nerfed. Be lucky that with some nerfs you get buffs.

We can't even get that. When they do buff us... they give us useless **** like a better percent to purge debuffs off pets with talents... WTF, fix our pet pathing issues.

Seriously I don't think you really know what your talking about.

Yeah...because getting your own MS (even though it's got a 3.5sec cast time) and a very powerful attack with an added dispel is a nerf. Amirite?
#36 Feb 29 2008 at 6:45 AM Rating: Default
Let's not forget that the major reason hunters were so low in the arena representation is because they were a FoTM class with an easily exploited weakness (i.e. the deadzone). Casters could easily dead zone a hunter and melees could engage them up close. This was also fixed.

Hitashleavt...Go home...now...there are so many things could say to you right now but i wont. You only play a huntard and a warrior anyway...so its you who dosent know what they are talking about. The future for huntards and warriors is bright, while we get thrown down the toilet...If you honestly think blizzard actually cares about classes other than huntards and warriors then Ive got some swampland on mars to sell you.

Balance is meaningless...Only the void remains for us now...

Well Dammint, someone has too cry about this...Dont try to feed me that "Glass is half full" crap. Im gonna be angry, Im gonna complain, but im still gonna play the game. The Warlock will always and forever be my favorite class and nothing will change that. No malicious nerfs, no brain dead huntards/warriors, nothing. Even if the end of the day we loss all of our versilatility and become absolutely useless, Ill still be a warlock...Blizzard can throw every nerf, whammy, debuff and kelganite at the warlock. We will persevere!!!

There's complaining and being melodramatic. That's his point.

God, I can't believe the warlocks are complaining about being nerfed.

Deal with it. Life Tap should have been percentile from the start, it makes more sense that way. There's admittedly not a lot of synergy with this change and the current warlock gear, but there are classes and specs that have dealt with crappy gear for ages now.

It sucks! Move on.
#45 Mar 01 2008 at 8:38 AM Rating: Decent
Eh-hem... Mage gear still contains large amounts of spirit, even though evocate was the ONLY reason for mages to get spirit and now it doesn't even work off of that stat. Essentially every piece of mage gear has literally DOZENS of wasted itemization points. I'm a lock and this offends me. How do you think they feel?
#46 Mar 01 2008 at 11:19 AM Rating: Good

it will be a really funny battle of wills when facing another lock. we'll mana drain each other then wait who suckers 1st and does life tap :P

It's spelled Hunter.
Huntard is a condescending term used to describe a hunter who has no idea what he's doing.

The irony in your post is that you probably only play warlcock, so you wouldn't have a clue in the first place about the balance between the classes. Of course, other than you getting shamefully owned by players of certain classes a bit too often. This doesn't necessarily have to do with game balance though, but merely player skillfulness/skillessness.

I play both hunter and warrior, however not warlock. I'm not making any statements to whether or not this nerfs differently specced warlocks in either way, simply because I find I don't have enough knowledge of the class to form an accurate opinion. Perhaps something you should teach yourself... Don't make retarded statements of other classes whom you have no other experiences of other than second-hand. While it's ok to make all sorts of statements about how this effects warlocks as a warlock player, don't get other classes involved.

This goes out to Banatu (edit: and OversoultheImmaculate) too. You guys don't have a clue, so don't embarrass yourselves.

Personally I am getting a bit bored with the term "class balance". Balanced in regards to what? PvE? Normal or Heroics? 5 man raids? 25 man raids? Arena's? If arena, 2v2? 3v3? 5v5?

This game is getting more and more complex from the developers point of view (as I see it) as they have so many factors to consider and different options within the game (3 talent trees, PvE and PvP) that no matter what they do, they probably will do something wrong occording to someone.

So next time someone complains about "class balance", please specify what you mean as I really have no clue as to what "class balance" without a more specific explanation means.

Personally I will ***** about not being able to be a human druid :-)
