I'm not premium so can't do a search and after having looked through the stickies (for the millionth time) I don't see a very basic set of numbers for me to be ready to dps in Kara.
If I recall correctly from what I have read before on this forum it should be something like:
95 hit (with precision)
25% crit
1500AP
All in Battle Stance and unbuffed.
If so - I have a long way to go :/ (5% crit and 200AP)

That should be about right I reckon.
And even then, you'll probably struggle to come close to topping the damage charts , depending on the group of course.
Melee dps isn't really that easy in kara, because of the many AoE-fights (IMO of course). I've done the later stages with about 1700 unbuffed AP and 25% crit, 145 hit, and I've found it pretty hard to keep up. Last night when I tanked it we had a dps warrior who met the quoted stats and he was lowest of the dps, outdpsing me with about 30-40%.
Group was 4 mages, 3 warriors, 2 palas and a rogue, so he didn't get too many favourable buffs though. Might look different with a enh. shammy.

I'll be running with an enhance shammy and 2 feral druids and sometimes a ret pally (who puts out frikkin amazing dps - topped 1k in ZA with 9 witnesses who were all shocked).
So I will prob get very good group buffs. I don't plan on running anything beyond curator with these stats as I know I will gimp the team otherwise. I also realise I won't be top of dps but hope to be at least somewhere close to numbers 3 and 4.
Edit: I am working towards the S1 weapons from BG. Should I bother with anything other than the weapons? Can't arena as living where I am the lag makes it almost impossible to compete (average 1k lat).

if you mean, should you try going for any armor, plug your numbers into maxdps.com and you'll know for sure.
