Popping TrinketsFollow

Hi all,

Not too sure how many others have this problem -- I've just started raiding Kara (2nd run last night, we got to (and downed) Aran), and I'm having an absolute blast - Averaged 580 dps, second overall on Damage.

But with all the things I need to watch, I find myself forgetting about my Trinkets, which could potentially add a fairly large amount of Damage to my existing output.

Then I had an idea to Macro Bloodthirst to call Each Trinket before actually executing BT, some sneaky message suppression would allow me to attempt to use them, even when on cooldown, but ignore the message. As a result, I would be popping each trinket (Bladefist's Breadth and Ogre Mauler's Badge) as soon as they were available, essentially keeping both on cooldown, and making max use of the benefits they provide. I then have Blood Fury (I'm an Orc) when I need that extra Boost (like at the end of a Boss).

Question is, is this an efficient way of doing things, or should I be using the Trinkets more sparingly (like only on Bosses for example). Problem with this is that I find myself forgetting about them then.

When do you Pop your trinkets.

Thanks in advance ... I know I generally get good advice from you guys.

i use a new bar to put trinkets on, somewhere near the middle of my screen.

make it 2-3x bigger then normal bars, and my SCt tells e when they are on CD plus as the icons are so big i kinda can't forget about them

macro'ing trinkets to your BS is a nice idea.

as for when to pop them:

on small trash, i tend not to
bigger trash packs/mobs i will(arcane guardian, spectral guests)

and on bosses, i tend to wait for a special action to pop one
just so if i have to run away(aran, prince, netherspite) it wont be wasted.

hope this helps

Im a lock so dont know if it is the same for you but i would not macro the trinkets. When you get a bit more experienced everything you do just seem natural so you got more time looking at threat meters etc.
There are some bosses where you need very high brust dps all of the sudden, and therefore i would save the trinkets for that.
If its just tank and spank then pop them as soon as the tank has aggro, so you can use them more than once this fight. Same goes for bloodfury, dont save it till the end, and learn the fight and make sure you dont require healing in those 15 secs! Dead players dont dps ;)

I've just got my trinkets and cooldowns bound to nearby hotkeys. When I raid I rearrange a bit in my action bars, so some shouts I'm not using anyway becomes DPS CD's.

It's "Dead bodies do 0 DPS", and I KNOW you got that from Deez (or perhaps Wilfredo) :P
