so im seein it more often

forumguy bill asks something

whats best build, or why is this bad, or what do you think of this

forumguy rick replies an answer, but not sugarcoated... just tells you the answer to the question thats already been asked 95% of the time, and forumguys similar to rick get tired repeating answers... usually sounds like a **** because of this reason

bill then replies something along the lines of

dude, its only a game... dont be such a asshat about it

- - - - -

see that? ya its a game, but hell your on a forum asking on how to get good at said game

college football coaches arent gonna tiptoe around calling you a ****-up of a quarterback when you cant throw the ball, and you ask why you cant

if you wanna throw out the its only a game argument, then stop asking questions that are a clearcut answer

is this the best for that? well answer... if it isnt said nicely, dont keep reminding us of that, eventually well just make you search through the forum pages... cuz we just wont help you anymores

help said in a bad way is still help, suck up your e-balls that make you try and lash out on us and just learn a thing or two, cha?

Sorry Im not sure Im quessing your tastes correctly.

Wow, no one's ever used the whole, "would you like some cheese to go with your whine" line ever; you're so clever!

Seriously, shut the **** up.

And Mongoose, rate up because you explained why I flame in a much more concise manner than I would have.

Personally I've just decided to ignore any thread that I think even has the vaguest possibility of having what it contains already answered in the FAQ. Just not worth it to try to help these people, no matter how many times they get brutally ravaged more spring up to take their places.

So very annoying and so very sad that people always act before thinking.

The worst part is when you decide to be nice enough to answer their question in a civil manner, then they tell you are wrong.

"What's the best spec for raiding?"
"Combat swords has been proven to be about 2% DPS better than any other spec, and up to 15% better than some specs."
"Well my friend does Kara as deep sub and he out-DPS anybody, even the combat swords rogue they got."

WTF is up with that?

We didn't say every combat swords rogue will out-DPS every non-combat swords rogue. We just said when geared and played correctly it is unequivocally the HIGHEST POSSIBLE DPS spec.

Don't come in here with your anecdotal evidence saying some other spec is better. Maybe the combat swords rogue in your buddy's raid has worse gear than your buddy does. Maybe the combat swords rogue in your buddy's raid doesn't know how to keep up a proper combat cycle. Maybe the combat swords rogue in your buddy's raid is playing on dial-up compared to your buddy's high speed so he lags like an asthmatic wildebeast in something as simple as Kara.

When certain people on these forums speak (Demea, Theo, Nooble, RPZip) they know what they are talking about.

Don't argue with them. You've heard that old statement about arguing on the internet and the Special Olympics, right? Well in this case you're the one that's retarded and they still know WAY more than you will EVER know about playing a rogue.

Nooble made an excellent FAQ. READ IT, LIVE IT, LOVE IT!!!

Personally, I find it pretty hilarious that you included me in that relatively short list. Most of my knowledge of rogues came from reading posts by Nooble, Zip, Tyrandor, and other rogue veterans, as well as my limited experience in raiding and other PvE environments.

In reality, most of what I've learned can be easily found by looking at WoWWiki. It's not hard to find or understand rogue mechanics, but some people wound rather complain about how they think things should be instead of finding a way to work with how things are.

Wowwiki is not a good place beyond the very basics, to some extent mechanics of the classes.

But yes, doing your own research is probably the one thing people don't do, and those people have no idea how much of a better response they can get if they demonstrate that they tried to understand the problem/question prior to asking the question or about the problem. There is no excuse of laziness.

I was reading this whilst waiting in the queue for AV, quick alt-tab and I see in general:

[1]<Kevn>:"Just A Game" is a new guild looking for members...

Was a rather strange co-incidence. I used to try to reply on these forums to the more asinine questions so that other people didn't have to, I've given that up now...

Rate up for the college football coach analogy!

I'm pretty tickled by being listed as a Rogue veteran. I mean... I have a stickied Rogue FAQ, I know very nearly literally everything about melee theorycrafting and play plus I have more raid experience than pretty much anyone else on these forums...

...but my Rogue is level 36, and he hasn't been played since about June. Of 2005.

Melee warriors work in much the same way as rogues, except for the energy/rage difference.

Plus, most of the discussion on this forum is theorycraft.

I find it funny that I'm listed as a rogue to listen to, since I'm only on a 1700-rated arena team and I've not gone past ZA in PvE.

I find it fairly amusing that a warrior, who's a rogue theorycrafter, still manages to tear it up in the warlock forums with Jenova =P

You need to go into the shaman forums more often and kick some ***. Gaudion is one of the only ones with a grasp on the class (Paracleets and TheYardstick are the only other ones that come to mind, Bibdaddyjug has posted there a bit as well), but he doesn't always present his stuff as palatable as you can.

As for me, I can barely stand reading the garbage from many on the Shaman forums and am trying to phase outta there. I don't even have a shaman but can give advice simply from what I've read.

I can help out in the shaman forums with anything except enhance pre-Kara gearing.

The pre-Kara itemization for enhance shamans is pathetic.

My shaman is currently ele, recently respecced from enhance, so I know the specs for PVE, but I've only ever PVPed on him as resto.

You're right, most of the people in the shaman forums post inane drivel. Gaudion knows what he's talking about, but he's usually too abrasive to be helpful and too stubborn to admit when he's wrong.
