How are we against locks? I know they have a nasty reputation for chewing up everyone in their path...

Hey jemac. Well warlokcs with their fear lock and loads of Dots on you it becomes pretty hard for any class. I had a few encounters through outland with this same lock, he just feared dot dot dot dot, then death coil and so forth. But when i sprinted at him and got a few seconds close to him he died in matter of seconds. So i guees obviosly you have to get really close really quick.

Try feral charging,(stops casting for 4 secs) and your already directly in front, then after you have hit her a few times and feral charge wears off, hit bash for a decent stun, and to finish them off cat form for a good mangle spam if your 50and thier pretty much dead. If not and you think you will be feared put your bleeds on him and while your being feared away he will lose quite a bit of health so NOW he should be dead hopefully.
Sorry for the rabble but i find thats what i do again st them.

you will need to get the jump on the lock tbh.

also theres no point hoping that bleeds will kill a lock:

SL+drain life = bleed, what bleed? ¬,¬

playing other chars other than my lock i now know how annoying they are, specially the noob ones that do jsut fear+ dot, dot, dot

unfortunately until DR makes u immune, you jsut gotta deal with it....or hope for a massive row of crits

If he get's the opener, you're usually toast. If you get the opener and have your pvp trinket ready, then you have a good chance. Ofc i have maim. You may not be high enough to have that yet, but it's wonderfull to have a new interrupt for when pounce wears off. Usually i pounce, mangle, shred and then he death coils me. After coil wears off you get the fear, and that's when you use you trinket, sprint in and maim him. He should be pretty close to death by then, so hope you can finish him off fast before he gets off another fear.

Watch out for locks with a felhunter out, since they will have a good chance of spotting you from a distance. A felhunter on aggresive is a good way to ruin your day :P

Another scenario if the lock is suspecting an attack is a parked fel guard. When you attack, the fel guard charges you and ruins your nice mangle, shred combo. Nothing to do about it except wait until he's not suspecting an attack, or chose another target to kill. It sucks too much to walk into an abvious trap. Don't play him on his terms! It's a close battle even if you get the opener.

The noob one that just fears and dot? Omg

Thats like saying the priest that heals himself, the rogue that stuns, the warrior that charges, the druid that shapeshifts, the mages that use cs/frostnova, the pala that bubbles, the shammy that uses totems... shall i continue?

Ofc he uses fears, since it is a good spell. But yeah give me bubble and i wont fear. Or stun. Lol

yes constantly fearing and dotting is the most noob thing a lock can do.

same as a mage constatly sheeping when the target is at low hp or using imp cs at the begining of the fight
same as a warrior running away till hes out of combat jsut to charge
same as a rogue blowing premed, jsut to vanisha nd re stunlock u but it not last and then get pwned
same as a shaman using WF totem in a group with hunters and druids

a good lock wins a battle without fear, if u need to use fear your doing something wrong, or your fighting a rogue

Sorry for smiling a bit, but when it comes to melee, locks don't have a chance without using fear. How on earth should a lock keep distance if not using fear? Or any clothie? Only chance they have is to frostnova or fear, without it, they are dead. From what I have seen, using Curse of Exhaustion (If the lock even has it) does not stop charge.

You might not like being feared, but it's no fun being stunned all the time either, and as far as I am concerned, that's just as noobish :-) You use the tools you have, regardless of class, that's why you have them.

And yes, I play both druid and warlock.

A good pala can win without using his bubble too, but does he use it anyway? Ofc he does. A good mage can win without pow pyro og elemental, but does he use them anyway? ofc he does. Don't whine about locks using dots and fear to kill you.

I don't feel any better after beeing drain tanked to death by a lock, than i do after beeing fear kited to death, so stop bothering about how he kills you and start working on what you can do to kill him first!

when fighting melee, i tend to use DC and maybe iHot.

rogues hit me for nothing and with 12k hp the can stun me for aslong as they want, its also easy to outlast their CoSh

ofc warriors are different, i try to not let them get initial charge, ofc fear is pointless agaisnt a warrior

i use CoEX and run, wait for intercept and spamstring, i use escape artist, DC reapply Coex and run

after a full run of Dots....no more warrior.

if i can LoS its even better

Our HoT's can outheal a locks DoT's. If you have some time just toy with him and heal yourself. Usually you want the quick kill though, if he spots you go to kitty, dash, and try to get some hits in before the inevitable fear, dot, dot....you'd think they'd have other moves.

Tampax pretty much said it. Use the tools you got!

Imo kiting with CoEX is just as lame as fear.
And if the rogue doesnt burn you down he is eigther a noob or a very bad geared one. adreanaline rush and you are dead. DC and IHOT(which is a fear lol) wont save you when he counter it with trinket/WOTF and sprint. GG

I have been ganked by alot of rogues and tried everything to take them, but at the end of the day a rogue with equal gear just wins. Same goes with every other class if you dont fear.

im not say dont use fear,

but whats worse than standing htere getting beat on, specially by a kitty with a 1s attack sped and getting knock back on fear.

thats why iHot is great whilst they are feared pwn with sb's, as they run back and start whailing on you, DC them

Fear dot dot dot = Noob??? Please, what else am I gonna do?? Grin stupidly as i attempt draintank a warrior??? Hell No!! Im gonna Fear...no ifs, ands, or buts about it. PVP isnt about being honorable or making the other guy feel better, its about not getting your *** handed to you. We locks use what tools are available to us. Were gonna chain fear cause we dont wanna die. Live with it, and move on, dont call us noobs just cause you had a bad run in with a warlock. If a class beats you, It dosent mean they are a noob. Im not gonna call all rouge, warriors, and hunters noobs just because I lost to a few, that would be retarded...

*note* I expect this crap from a rogue, but a druid??? Come on, you guys are better than that...Its a grim future for warlocks anyway, with the way things are going...

i am a lock, and chain fearing is noobish..live with it,end of, move on.

im glad for DR, so when i come up against another lock and they fear me to hell and i still wipe the floor with them its even more satisfying

fear a warrior...in pvp, gl with that, in pvp my warrior has 4, yes count them, 4 ways of breaking fear. DC, CoEx kiting is a more viable option

having played as and against locks at 70, you learn who the noobs are quickly.
