I'm switching to a pew pew lazerz spec due to the fact that of our 7 70 druids, 0 are balance. I just wanted to see any criticisms on this instance/raid build.

No IFF because we have very little melee in my guild, and I'm pretty sure I've got a solid build but just wanted to make sure.

Well, Improved Faerie Fire applies to hunters as well (and wands, as if that really matters), but it's extremely hard to fit into a build as well as get everything else you need. Other than that it looks okay, though this is just based upon my experiences as a moonkin up to 60, and what others have told me.

I'll admit, I'm not sure that trees are really that useful in raids, however. I'd be tempted to think about moving that point into more threat reduction, but like I said, I'm not really experienced with it. I imagine the trees would be nice to drop on trash every 3 minutes, but I don't think they'd really make much difference against a boss (assuming they didn't get trashed by an AoE effect right away anyways.)

I'd drop the points from Brambles to max out Control of Nature and then spend the free point to get another bit of threat reduction via Subtlety. Brambles is... pretty mediocre, to say the least.

What kind of content are you going to be doing as a Boomkin? If it's 25-man raieds you really should get Imp. FF pretty much no matter what. If it's 10-mans and you don't really bring any melee who'd benefit (Enhance Shamans, Rogues, Fury Warriors) then it's another story, though. It does give a rather nice threat boost to most tanks, so if that's an issue I'd reconsider it.

Anyway... try this for your needs. It's just slightly tweaked but the principle is the same.

Overall, in a 25-man raid, imp FF would benefit maybe 2-4 people with the setup we got. So it really isn't worth it IMO as the others should be hit-capped without me (and shouldn't rely on my debuff to not be hit capped).

I'll go with your suggestion though, RPZip.

And vael, trees are good in solo (which I'll still be doing some of) plus they add burst damage on fights where you need to burst during vulnerable phases.

that spec is very similar to my own, but treants can be a problem in raids since you cannot control the little buggers, so id drop that for raiding, and put it in subtlety, and i agree with the brambles, move 1 point from that over to subtlety also ^^

Subtlety is a definite requirement. Our Boomkin can have threat issues even with full points. Nothing more frustrating than having to sit there twiddling your thumbs because that next spell might crit & wipe the raid.

I'm just curious, as someone who has never even considered a Boomkin build, what your spell rotation is going to be, and if you have found anything that talks about optimal spell rotation. I don't mean to hijack this post, but I'd be interested to learn. Anyway, good luck with your transition.

Keep insect swarm up & chain spam Starfire. If you are getting close to the end of the fight, switch to wrath spam as it has higher DPS, but chews through your mana faster.

Some people like having the moonfire DOT always sticking as well, but this will reduce your mana efficiency even further.

I wonder if we'll be able to wrath spam all fights next patch with dreamstate + spirit changes.
