So I was getting up my engineering skill on my Rogue and my friend asks me to help him with some, Suns of Gruul quest idk we had to kill some 70 elite near shatt up near some ogres, and our 'tank' was his other friend. Long story short we wiped, 4 times, so I was thinking what is wrong with the guy and I check out his build and asked him about it, he says "I'm tryin out a hybrid" I got to looking and I don't play a paladin but what advice do I give to a guy with a build like this

i didn't want to be mean but I had to tell him his build sucks and that he needs to check a forum or faq or something, cuz I'm tired of getting tanks who know nothing about how they work.
It should take a whole lot more to out aggro a tank than a garrote opener and 2 mutilates.

LOL. please tell me this is some sick joke your doing with an alt of yours or something. just straight tell him his build sucks and has some mix matched gear to say the least. under 1k atk for ret if he's trying. under even9k hp for prot and no way close to healing spec's. might as well take his tallent points away and put on e-bay.
That is probably the worst assortment of gear and talents that I have ever seen on an end-game paladin.
We all know his spec and gear sucks, but the degree in which it sucks is what makes this case interesting. Even if he wanted to be a hybrid build (which we all know is sucky itself);
He goes down 13 points in ret, and doesn't pick up Seal of Command.
He goes down 33 points in prot, and doesn't pick up Holy Shield, Blessing of Kings, Imp. Righteous Fury, or Blessing of Sanctuary.
He goes down 10 points in holy, and doesn't pick up Spiritual Focus.
As for his gear, he is blending holy, retribution, and prot gear all at once.
For Healing he has 196+healing, 18 spell crit rating, and 28mp5
For Tanking he has 49 Defense Rating, and 0 Dodge, Block, or Parry Rating dispite most of his talents being in prot.
For DPSing he has 865AP, 57 Melee Hit Rating, and 59 Melee Crit rating.
This is truly pathetic for anyone. Even if someone had never played the game before and bought the account, they still could have made better decisions. A blind, mentally deficient monkey (menally deficient by monkey standards) could have come up with a better spec and gear selection.

that's exactly what i said, when i saw he was missing blessing of sanctuary and holy shield, i was just pissed, indescribably stupid, idk when I said something he told me

LOL that's just an awesome idea. Think Bliz should guild class leaders the ability to just shut people down when they do something like that....maybe that would help us pallies who actually have put time into reading what's out there and have done a little work on build/gear.

wow..That is an awful build.
Well he switched it up now, if you check his armory again, he has devoted more points into prot, kept those same 10 points in holy, and took a lot of points out of ret. His build is closer to a tanking build, but still not quite there.
Oh and his gear still sucks.

No epics would be fine if he had a focus. If he just hit 70 and was gearing up that would be one thing, but this is showing ignorance on a huge scale.

Wow. My level 61 Paladin has 783 attack power unbuffed. And he still needs to find two rings with strength and a cape that isn't an old Azeroth Alterac Valley rep reward.
