Hey y'all,

Ok, here's my question(s). In end game, can y'all tell me what each of the different shaman specs does, and if they are really very effective (comparatively)? In other words, why is a shaman healer BETTER than a Druid healer? Why is Shaman Elemental good in raids while mages and other classes do better DPS? (or do they?) Is there really a place for Enhancement in End Game? And other things like this. Also...are shamans as awful at PvP as people keep saying? Because that is big for me.

Gracias,
Jemac

Apples and oranges. Generally, shamans are great with tightly-packed raid healing with chain heal, and druids are great with Heal over Time spells. Thus, two different roles.

In my guild at least, the ele shammy is on par with damage to the mages. Shamans bring party-specific buffs though, through totems and bloodlust. Still, probably one of the lesser desired specs; I'd compare them to moonkins.

Ask this to any raiding melee class. Enhancement buffs the melee group amazingly well. They are certainly welcome in every raid guild I've been in, although generally more than 1 or 2 is overkill.

Ok, this is really helpful! What about PvP? cause I love being good at PvP. (Like, is windfury really that powerful a PvP spec? questions like this)

If you're looking to be good at PvP then you're looking at the wrong class period.

Enhancement Shaman and Elemental Shaman both get destroyed in any situation in which they have to hold their own; basically, any kind of small-scale PvP. They suffer horribly in duels, the 2v2 bracket in the arena, and they're mediocre at best in 3v3. The only place they really shine is in 5v5 where they can provide artillery (see also: damage) for their team, their buffs are put to slightly better use, and Heroism/Bloodlust becomes potentially monstrous.

Resto Shaman, no matter how you look at it, are either the least desireable healers in PvP or tied with Paladins, depending on who you talk to. Priests and Druids both perform much, much better when it comes to healing in PvP environments.
