There's a warlock in my guild who does Kara and Gruul's Lair with us sometimes.

She's currently specced demo, and it seems like a solid demo spec, but I know she could be doing more DPS with a different spec.

What would be the best spec for her at her current gear level and in the raids she is doing.

You can check out her armory here.

Edit: Also, if anybody knows of any easy to get upgrades for her gear that would help as well.

She should start with enchanting her Head, Chest, Wrists,Gloves and Boots.
+40 Armor isn´t really any good for PvE.

She has some pretty decent starting gear, but i wouldn´t advise her to go
into demonology, yet. But instead i would recommend a deep affliction build.
due to her having some PvP gear her crit is pretty high aswell, so she might go
for a hybrid with Ruin instead of Unstable Affliction.

Deep Affliction(without MT Imp support and without Malediction):

Deep Affliction (with MT Imp support and Malediciton):

no where near enough hit for any build with ruin. a 43/0/18 type build would be a good idea. the +dmg will be around like 500-600 without DK so the best bet is to be a utility lock.
i'd reconmend this build. it's a 42/8/11 build which basically is all about providing increased raid utility and maximising your viable methods of dps (dots primarily due to low hit rate).

i'd also reconmend replacing the meta with the spell haste meta. all spell crit gems with 4hit 5dmg. getting hit enchanted on gloves and other pieces of gear properly enchanted (15dmg on bracers. 150hp/6 to all stats to chest, boars speed to feet) and getting revered with scryers to get the scryers blood gem to replace the crit trinket.

Yeah I had been telling her about the enchants.

She doesn't raid much, but has recently wanted to start. The enchants will be an immediate help.

I'll have her work on that and I'll look at her gems and get her straightened out.

Should she go with straight 8 spell hit in yellow slots if she has any, or will an orange hit/dmg gem be better in those?

Oh, 2 last questions.

If she goes with the 42/8/11 build what is the optimal spell rotation on boss fights?

What are he rbest bet gems for each socket color?

I see you just said yellow should be spell hit, what about red/blue?

red use spelldmg, blue go for spelldmg and stamina.
This is really simplified. There is a bit more to sockest, but
i guess you know that.

her spellrotation should be:
her designated curse (curse of elements/shadows/recklessness),
or curse of doom if she doesn´t have to debuff, but with malediction
skilled she should be on debuff-duty.
So it´s Curse, Unstable Affliction, Corruption Sbolts,
after that refresh DoTs and cast Sbolts in between.

Ok I will pass all of this info on and check on her gemming and enchants.

She will probably not want to spec out of her current demo spec, but she understands if she wants to raid she pretty much has to.
