i'm a lvl 70 lock and i want to get into raiding but just dont have the time so i just pvp in bgs. i leveled with demo spec and respec'd to aff and thinking about going back to demo [i miss my felguard :(] anyway, i was wondering about the destruction build. is it better than aff in pvp? pve? thanks in advance.
Questions like this should be addressed in a sticky. Unfortunately, the sticky was written back when level 60 was the cap...

so why doesn't someone just update the stickie to be more viable for those of us who will hit the stickie's first and then flood the forum pages with repeat questions
Well, if you're being passive-aggressive at me, saying I should do something about it, you're asking the wrong guy. I can maybe write up a semi-decent lock spec, but it would probably be sub-optimal and nowhere near cookie cutter.
However, I really wish someone would. It probably wont cut down on all the "what spec, what spec?" cries, but would at least allow me to have some idea.

lol no wasn't meant as a passive-aggressive reply, was actually curious as to why someone hasn't redone the faq page to incorporate at least the 2.3 stuff if not the new 2.4 patch that is coming fairly soon.
How I love the "if." It allowed me to defend myself if you were attacking me, while being a completely blank statement if you werent. So...it was blank.
I've thought about writing guides and getting all the other locks here to critique them and then maybe getting them put up as stickies, but in the end, i just don't have the time.
most of us are to lazy/busy to write an entire guide. best thing would be if someone started a compliation which the respective 'gods' of each spec post their knowledge about said spec as well as coming to general agreements on X, Y and Z. one thing though that we wouldn't come to an agreement of is dest > demo endgame or demo > dest, or at least not until blizzard allow cross faction transfers and me and oaken get to dps in the same raid. hehe

oh and about the OT. for entering raiding, go UA. 43/0/18 type spec with as many points in suppresion as you need to get your afliction hit to 16%. once you get to about 170 +hit, you can then start considering switching to demo or dest, though both have fairly specific minimum stat requirements before they become viable.
