Warlocks Overpowered?Follow

#1 Feb 19 2008 at 9:51 PM Rating: Decent
I know it has been hashed over many times, but I bring it up again for help to combat this evil Smiley: smile
I was running around Westfall on my 20 priest, joining whoever needed help and they helped me do the Prisoner escort. We ended up with 4 people, the warlock wanted to run VC. Since he was a 13, and we all needed to get other quests first, we turned him down. We went to the beach after a while and when we were chilling the lock threw down a duel flag. 20 Warrior went first, good duel but the lock won. So now he duels a 20 mage, she did not do as well, and he took her. Of course he had to beat me for the sweeep, but I thought I could beat him with his own tricks. Wrong, Psychic scream had no affect on the VW and PW:S only did so much. Tried to outgun him while the VW beat on me. Sadly this 13 lock walked away with a triple, and we saw nothing to do to stop him. I think a hunter would have a chance but maybe not.

Any advice?

It was a lock that knows how to play his class really well. I think that's about it

teens and twenties is hardly the level range to call a class overpowered.

Well it's for all classes really. Around lvl 20 is when classes just start getting different. They're all very similar before that. Also gear can play a huge role in the beginning. That's why people twink.

But, um, wow ... they had 7 levels on this guy. You'd think the resisted spells alone would make a world of difference. Truthfully, I can't remember what spells the classes even have at those levels, but that just doesn't seem right. He had his VW out so that wasn't doing the damage ... he would only have a shield from sacrificing it.

I like PvPing against Warlocks. They keep you on your toes, the wrong move can get me killed. Cloak of Shadows is a WoWGod send. The time to use it though is a different story. If I get the opening stun on a Warlock. I'll win 90% of the time.

Edit:
Oops. I'm in the Priest forum now..
My main is a Rogue :D

As a Priest. Nerf the Warlocks!

I agree that as a SP, I have a difficult time w/ most locks. Mana burn? LOL... A good lock w/ the felpup out = no chance of getting off multiple mana burns to make a difference. Spell Lock\Fear\Dot\Dot\Fear and many other tricks I didn't name... Even my fear\silence only goes so far w/ them...

Well the lock was only at 13, so no fel pup. I think VW is lame, just a bother. Imp for dueling hits harder. So it looks like no way to come close to beating a lock, even 7 level lower. I guess I need to roll lock Smiley: frown

7 levels, dont care what class you should win. maybe your just not a pvper. locks at this level only have 2-3 dots and only 1 of them instant. and you should have resisted most of them. and locks arent OP, rogues (if caught off guard) and hunters (i caught) can kill us

I wasn't crying, I was really asking for ideas. I agree, 7 levels unless you are talking twinks should win 8/10 times. And it was 3 different classes, but like he gloated "Fear FTW". I know I am not a PvPer, but when he keeps you running willy-nilly, what can one do?

Warlocks are not over-powered. I think that priests are just under-powered, since warlocks are made to take hits from casters. If you were a rogue or a paladin, you would have won.
Being overpowered means that you can get away with things that no one else can, while there is no way to counter what you did. Warlocks' abilities can be countered, like Mana Burn and Dispel could have made that fight go your way.
If anything, rogues and possibly hunters are over-powered. When you do more PVP, you will see what I mean.

omfg! if you at lvl 20 cant take a lvl 13 lock you fail at the game that is wow! and you can even heal yourself lol. with a renew and pw:s on yourself the lock shouldnt be able to burn you down even tho he did have any resists.

Got both 70 priest and 70 lcok. Locks are not op.

Not trying to be a **** but you should win 10/10 games here. Unless he was twinked with leg enchant etc.

LOL. If you have never lost to a lock you have not fought a lock that knows how to play his class.
GL trying to mana burn one with a Fel Hunter spell locking you, plus the push back when it's chewing on you.

You're WoTF will get you out of fear for a bit but a good lock should win some against you.
