I'm making my lock for the purposes of PvPing when I hit 70. Rather than try to get level 70 gear and farm the BG's for the easier-to-get PvP epics, I'm planning on twinking at level 59 and having a full set of epics (likely s1 arena and s3 honor gear unless s4 gear comes out, in which case it will be s2/s4) when I hit 70.
(I know the top of the AV bracket is 60, but the top of WSG and AB is 59, unless wowwiki is lying, thus I will stay 59).
My question is what is the best way to go about gearing up my lock? Chances are I'll be using only level 59 outlands greens, so basic "of XXX" type stuff. I've got three routes I'm looking at (and in each route, I'd probably use the same enchants, i.e. spellthread on the legs, SD enchants where I can, stats on chest, boars speed on feet, etc).:
1. Get all "of the sorcerer" gear (stam/int/SD) and go affliction. I won't have much crit % but if I go affliction crits won't make much of my DPS, and it'll afford me mana. I know that int isn't as important for locks as stamina, but as there aren't any stamina/SD items this seems to be a good way to get a combination of spell damage and stamina.
2. Get all "of stamina" gear and go demonology. My manager said he was pvping in this bracket and a lock in his group had over 11k HP. While the enchants would provide with a small amount of spell damage, I'd have incredible survivability.
3. I can get a mixture of the two, such as all low-value items (such as 1H weapons, belt, etc) be of stamina, and all high value items (chest, head, etc) be of the sorcerer, or vice versa.
I'm leaning toward 1 or 2, as I like to be an all-or-nothing type of person (and would rather get ALL of the sorcerer or ALL of stamina) but I wanted your opinions.
