I kited him from his post to southshore, up to our AV cave, back to southshore and then back up to our AV cave before i ran out of runnin room. He still had a good 70% when I died.

Doesn't that stick in your craw when the NPC "guards" keep on walking by.

I tried kiting the Fel Reaver into the alliance temple(with all the draenei in it), only to find out that all of 2 guards actually start attacking. I died that day.

Found a new way to do the Fel Reaver quest-

Kite the MFer to Shatt, the guards near the center will attack it, and more than likely you will get help killing it.

Had to do this on my Hunter in order to be able to finish the quest, works like a charm

Can someone suggest a strong azeroth mob to kite? My hunter is only 41, so i gotta watch for surrounding aggro. So far i've done.

Dragonkin from wetlands >> southshore
Ghosts from purgition*sp island >>> southshore
Forzuk from arathi >> southshire >.> pattern..
That guy up there all over the place.

The Dragon in Blasted Lands.

People used to kite him to SW all the time, and actually, that used to be a pre-req for alot of hunters to get into end-game guilds.

Does he now?

Way to ruin the fun Blizz, I loved taking him into SW, waiting for somebody to wack him, taking him into the keep, then FD on his ***

All the way to Shattrath, eh?

There's one which paths past Thrallmar. Grab that one, drag it into the group of casters outside the gates, and FD. You might not even need to FD, they hit hard enough to grab aggro. Just auto fire until it dies, and get your Shattered Halls key quest piece.

Does riding crop stack with aspect of the pack or cheetah?

The fel reaver quest in Hellfire can be done easiest by kiting a fel reaver to the NPCs just outside Thrallmar. There's a bunch of casters (blood elves and orcs) standing next to a wagon outside the walls on the east side of town. I try to skirt their location while pulling the reaver in there. Usually the NPCs take me down as well but that's OK. They kill the reaver and I get to make my Shattered Halls Key. That's a short kite, maybe 100 yards, as one of the reavers walks right past there. I've done that with two toons so far.

euhm... no... mounted speed and running speed dont stack >.>
not to mention the fact that Riding crop doesnt scale with anything else.

not to mention the fact that Riding crop doesnt scale with anything else.

Especially given the fact that, once you mount up, aspect of the cheetah disappears because you're no longer running.

I know this wasn't what the poster meant, but I now have images of someone running away from a reaver, slapping themselves on the behind with a riding crop to try and go faster.

Yeah, I tried kiting Fel Reaver last night after reading this and he caught up to me as well, although I didn't put down a frost trap, only Concussion Shot as my opener. Gonna try again tonight just for the fun of it...

Just to clarify. I was hoping aspect of the cheetah/pack would get a speed boost from the riding crop, to make kiting easier. I was hoping to be pleasantly surprised but y'all gave me the answer I expected, a no. oh well.

When I kited the fel reaver to the NPCs outside thrallmar, my opener was a concussive shot. Make sure you have aspect of the cheetah/pack on. Also send in your pet. He'll probably go down with one hit. However that pause will give you enough time to get far enough out in front of the reaver that he'll not catch you before you get to Thrallmar.
