Sword+Fist Build, questionsFollow

#1 Feb 19 2008 at 12:34 PM Rating: Decent
This build has been around for the last few patches, but my question doesn't really pertain to the spec, as much so as the weapons. I've done some researching, but nothing came to fruition. So I figured I'd ask here.

Does it matter which hand you have the sword/fist? My problem is that I'm stuck with the Fool's Bane atm. While my dps is far from terrible, with the addition of http://www.wowdb.com/item.aspx?id=34893 , and having the arena points for the s2, those are pretty big upgrades. Not to mention the dps upgrade from the spec.

Is there a dps difference from proc from sword spec if you were to have it OH, instead of MH? If so, is it high enough to warrant a switch to fists instead of fist/sword?

Edited for the grammar police. ;)

Fist MH, sword OH. You'll get more weapon spec procs from your OH since it hits faster, so to maximize the effect, you'll want the sword in your offhand.

Maybe I misread, but I could have sworn that anything proc based goes in your MH, since (MH)auto attacks + special attacks = more chances to proc.

zomg...and answer the rest of my questions. :)

OH: 1.5/1.3 = 1.15 seconds/swing = 0.87 swings/second
MH: 2.6/1.3 = 2.0 seconds/swing = 0.5 + 0.25 (1 SS every 4 seconds) = 0.75 swings/second

This doesn't take into account Combat Potency or Relentless Strikes, but you can plainly see that your offhand will hit more than your mainhand (assuming you don't miss any white attacks).

Phrase the rest of your questions in comprehensible English, and I'll get right on that. As it is, your original post is a grammatical nightmare.

Edit: Changed the OH speed to reflect the speed on arena weapons. Note that this makes the difference much more noticable (0.12 sps as opposed to 0.06 sps).

Technically speaking, the questions themselves were fine. The run on sentence and the amount of parenthesis used were a little excessive though. >.>

Fist+sword spec works only 1 way - Fist mh, sword oh.

There are 2 reasons for this - 1) all of your instant(yellow dam) and mh hits(white dam) get the +5% crit from fist spec.
2)you should get more oh sword hits to proc sword spec hits(which should also get the +5% crit, but i don't have any proof of that, since recount doesn't keep track of sword spec hits)with the sword in your oh.
