Enhancement Endgame Spare Talent points...Follow

So my 1st and main question is: Do we here at the shammy forums have a "Talents to avoid" thread? You know, the ones no one ever takes no matter what... I'd be interested to see one. If we don't have one already, I'd be happy to start one and maintain it with a little bit of community support/input.

That being said... here is my enhance build as it currently sits. I have done end game shammy as resto and elemental, but now I want to do enhance. And this time with my own toon. (the resto/elem was a friends toon as I was too burnt out on leveling to level my own shammy at the time after getting both a druid and lock to 70) Anyway, all that behind me now, Im a bit curious (as enhance) as to whether most people dump their remaining points in maxing out "Mental Quickness" and "Anticipation", with one spare in perhaps "Healing focus", or would most people find it more advantageous to put one in "Healing focus" and then dump the last 5 points into "Restorative Totems".

Any suggestions/opinions/commentary?

Cheers

Absolutely, positively put 3/3 in Mental Quickness. After that it's more or less to taste.

Thanks for the input, although, just out of sheer morbid curiosity, would you mind explaining your reasoning? Not because I dont agree, as a matter of fact, thats what I was leaning towards, but I would just like to verify that my reasonings are inline with the majority consensus.

Cheers

It's so that your shocks hit harder, for the most part. That's an extra ~350ish spell damage unbuffed and in even fairly mediocre gear, which equates to your shocks hitting for about 150 damage more, before any multipliers (like Stormstrike). In a raid situation where you might be running around with 2600AP, it's 335 damage more. Three talents for an extra ~60dps? That's nice.

If you intend on grouping much, and especially if you want to get into raiding, I'd suggest Improved Weapon Totems.

for endgame I think a build like this should be fine:

http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=hZxi0dVMsAuqoxbez

this gives you all totem buffs and other required dps talents, you want to buff wf for groups when needed (dps warrior or ret pally or both in one group)

This is a better build for optimal DPS.

It's not my own build, but it's pretty darn similar. Mine is a PvP/PvE build and I'm sure you wouldn't want that.

Anticipation and Toughness both are avoided, you shouldn't be getting smack much in a raiding, and I don't even touch them in my PvP build so that should be an indicator as to how they are compared to other Shaman talents.

The 2 dumped in the Ele tree were just leftovers and were dumped in there for the potential deal the most damage possible with those 2 points.

Call me crazy, but 2 points in improved lightning shield? That seems like a total waste to me (does anyone even use lightning shield anymore? Costs/Damage ratio on it is terrible, and I'd rather have water shield in almost any situation I can think of.) 2 points in anticipation is at least nice to have while farming/leveling.

The 2 points in concussion is interesting, though. Most people I've talked to suggest putting those points in improved reincarnation, but for straight DPS, concussion would be better. Improved Reincarnation is just nice to have for recovering from wipes, so I can see dropping it.

Those Lighning Shield points were just filler points to advance to the next tier, in my experiences it's more useful of a filler talent than any of the others.

Also in my experiences Imp Reincarnation hasn't really helped at all, oftentimes as Enh you die too close to the mobs or the boss to pop an ankh in the first place, and for optimal DPS those points are just better spent in Concussion.

Edit: Now that I think about it, Imp GW might be better for what you do in raiding.

I use to be a big fan of Imp LS, but with WS, it just seems out of date.

Imp LS has never been too useful anyways, most of the time it's just for filler.
