202 hit. between 10% and 20% haste and minimum 15% crit before devestation, preferably 20% (need to find a good trade off for haste and crit). end result is 1 super powered lock who's gear is suited for a dest spec BUT is also more than capable of being any other spec with those same stats.

i've got a question. should i get the gear that will get me thru kara or some of the gear from the individual lists you made? i'm pretty new to being 70 and i'm not that great when it comes to the technical stuff of the game, like what piece of gear is better than another. also, i'm affliction spec'd. will the gear still work well? thanks for the help.

The list Pimp made is for an 0/21/40 spec, and doesn't take into account the differences in scaling for affliction, as DS/SnF is the best scaling and highest single-target dps spec in the game.

On items without an excessive amount of crit/haste (pre-2.4), the ranking is the same for affliction.

Pre-Kara, pick up tailoring and make your FSW and Spellstrike/Girdle of Ruination. Those will last you well into T5 instances (in some cases all the way into BT/Hyjal). They're also well itemized for affliction, your preferred spec. T4 is garbage for warlocks anyways.

I've got a question about what he says about gems. I'll post it on the actual guide too but maybe someone here can help.

He says this about gems:

Yellow - always put pure spell hit gems in UNLESS you are hit capped

Blue - put pure spell hit gems in UNLESS hit capped AND don't need 2 blue gems for meta gem

Red - only put pure spell hit gems if not hit capped AND the socket bonus is worthless

Now does this mean "If you have a yellow socket always put pure spell hit gems in UNLESS you are hit capped. If you have a blue socket put pure spell hit gems in UNLESS hit capped AND don't need 2 blue gems...etc"

Or does it mean ignore socket bonus and put yellow gems always unless you need the 2 blues.

I really don't understand what he was trying to say there. But the rest of the guide is great.

blue gems are only worth it if the socket bonus outweighs/equals the loss in damage or hit. think of it this way.

yellow socket+ blue socket. with 4+dmg socket bonus.

now the yellow you'll obviously put either 8hit or 4hit 5dmg (the 4hit, 5dmg are my prefered). the blue you have a choice of 9+dmg or 5+dmg 6stam. now obviously with the 5dmg/6stam gem, you'll get the socket bonus of 4+dmg. so giving 9+dmg and 6stam, leading to a total gain of 6stam. so yeah, blues are really only worth it in this type of situation.

for red gems. imo 4hit/5dmg are the things to always put in these until hit cap. also come next patch. once you're hit capped. in yellow sockets always put 4haste, 5dmg. it's worth it once you get to about 5+% haste.

I have a question about gears.

First I have a lock lv 40 and this is my highness level toon I ever got. I have a friend that help me run some instance and I got what I think good item for my warlock.

I'm currently going full affliction because it seem the best way to go for leveling to 70 and I pretty much really like that play style. I play on a pvp server too.

So at lv 40, I'm not so sure about my equipments. I know that lock need good stam, some int and I think some +spell dmg, but I'm never sure if +stam is better than +spell dmg. I saw in that guide that he suggest to go with the full shadoweave set at lv 40, which seem great but there some equipments that give me more +shadow dmg but a lot less stam or a lot less int.

So here I'll link my armory and I would like some feedback of what I should change and if the shadoweave set is worth it.

My warlock:
Dhomochesky

Thank you
