It would be like a paladin tanking without a shield, or a mage DPSing while OOM. Unless you healed yourself A LOT and went with a resto build, you'd be in for a ton of hurt without giving much.

Slightly ot, but saw a pally and war dueling unarmed in IF. Looked like fun, and it got me wondering how many suckers I could get to duel me "unarmed".

Brings back memories of the cookie cutter Restoration & Dagger build from back when Innervate was a 31pt talent.

Technically in cat or bear form you are fighting without weapons. But seriously, you would get the snot beat out of you by any other class that actually uses weapons. Really the only reason a druid needs to carry a weapon is for the stat increases, ***** the dps of the weapon as it doesn't apply in forms.

How about if you use Moonkin form. Extra Armor and + Stam would be important along with Wep proficiency. I would be too tempted to cast though....

Moonkin form would provide you the armor to last a bit longer, but you would still be gimped because moonkin form is made for casting, you can't heal in that form either. You still couldn't compete just trading blows, you don't have any melee special attacks.

For unarmed humanoid melee combat, I believe paladins would reign supreme. All non casting classes aside (leaving warriors, rogues, enh shamans, paladins, and hunters), paladins are still able to get the most out of their abilities. A warrior requires a weapon for most of his abilities, an enhancement shaman benefits from weapon enhancements, rogues are nothing without their weapons, and hunters shouldn't melee anyway.
