how close to the gear in dilbrts thread about pre-kara gear do i have to be? i mean, to me, it seems like alot to do, espescially since i've heard that if your almost ready for heroics, your almost ready for kara. so exactly what kind of gear do you have to have?
Based on reading his thread, it looks like he gives you multiple options for each slot. I'd say you want to be in at least the weakest of the options for each, personally.
and speaking from experience, none of the gear on his list is exceptionally hard to get, usually just running a few instances or hitting the right quest. Overall not bad at all. Took me about 2 weeks to get fully geared with mid to top level stuff and did that only playing maybe a few hours a night
It is a lot to do, I'll freely admit to it. However you are NOT ready to raid the instant you ding 70, you're just not. It might take you a week or two to get ready, that's typical. If you're no longer wearing greens, aren't using spell damage or ret gear, then you're more than likely alright to go. If you're planning on healing a raid (even if it is kara) when you're using greens, spell damage gear, or worse, ret gear, then you're likely going to get someone killed. The point to being prepared isn't to improve your performance, its to keep others from dieing.

Don't forget to add that epics/blues from pre-TBC don't count either. I would have thought it wouldn't even need to be mentioned, then one Lurker raid back when I was raid leading, I was casually looking at gear on my raiders, and Bam! Zandalar bracers.
