Question about optimal sv shot rotation and weapon.Follow

#1 Feb 17 2008 at 8:36 AM Rating: Default
Ok I was wondering if some folks could answer a few question for me.

First what does 1:1 and the like mean? i know it has somthing to do with shot rotation. but im not sure.

and also at the moment im using the marksmans bow and it feels wayyyyyy to slow for me as a sv hunter. it makes my steady auto shot rotation have huge spaces inbetween. so i have to weave alot of other shots to use up that dead time.

Any tips would rock thanks.

1:1 shotrotation simply means 1 special shot (a.k.a. steady) for every 1 autoshot.
1.5:1 means that you shoot 3 specials for every 2 autoshots.
(a.k.a shooting an arcane or multi after every second steadyshot)

That second is what you are doing now, and is what you should do if it is possible mana-wise to get maximum dps.

1:1 priority rotation is a rotation where you shoot arcane/multi instead of steady when they are up.
(possibly arcane and multi instead of steady)

Incidently you want a slow weapon as a SV Hunter as we're supposed to weave in specials like Aethien says above. 1:1 rotations (just using Steady & Auto) are for BM specced Hunters with Serpent's Swiftness talented, and they should be after faster weapons.

This is why you'll often hear things about Wolfslayer Sniper Rifle being one of the best weapons for BM spec despite it being quite easy to obtain in the raid scheme of progression. It's rapid rate of fire means it's great for a 1:1 rotation.

SV Hunters should (generally) do a 1:1.5 rotation for the most part, but switch to a 1:1 when under the effects of Rapid Fire, Troll racial Berserking, Bloodlust/Heroism or any other abilities/trinkets that significantly boost your attack speed.

1:1 is always best, but for SV/MM it requires a weaponspeed (pre-haste) of 2.3-2.4 and those dont exist as epics =P
so then a 2.9 weapon for 1.5:1 is best.

For BM 1:1 requires a 2/6-2/7 speed weapon, and thats where Wolfslayer and Barrel-Blade fall under.
