need help picking raceFollow

Hey I have a 70 warlock but trying to make the switch from alliance to horde on a brand new server to change things up. I want to be a warrior (obviously, as I am posting under the warrior forum), and am still debating what class is best suited for warrior. Orcs seem like a good choice, with increased dmg with axes and resist to stun, taurens with health increase, undead with wotf, and trolls with...I'm not too familiar with trolls traits. Anyway, can anyone help me out? Thanks.

orc or tauren really. wotf isnt bad, but youre a warrior, and fear isnt a huge issue as a warrior. stun resist and the active orc racial is really nice, since at 70 you can get something like a 40% chance to resist stuns talented and geared correctly.

tauren rule for their larger hitbox, more hp, and 2s aoe stun, which functions both as an assist (gives allies time to react) and another interrupt.

orc or tauren really. troll racials arent useless, but theyre definetely more pve oriented.

ok, so theyre mostly useless.

As quor said, tauren and orcs are your best choice. If you want to raid dps, orc is the better choice. Tauren's better for tanking with increased stamina. For pvp, they're both pretty even. This is purely based on racials though.

Tauren are huge though, and look cool, but are a pretty big target in pvp, have fun.

Basically it comes down to 2 things, Tanking or DPS. As a warrior odds are you'll have to tank end-game as DPS warriors are pretty scarce and/or less recognizable in searches for LFG. If you're in a guild that you know you'll be raiding in, just choose one or the other now. If you want to DPS end-game, go with Orc. If you want to tank, go with Tauren. If you're unsure as of now, either IMO would be ok for leveling it up because of orc's dmg and tauren's stamina. GL, hope it helped.

don't bother looking into trolls for your warrior as far as racials are concerned. berserking gives you a 10% attack speed increase for 15 seconds if activated at full health, but increases to a 30% attack speed increase if you are near death. unless you're feeling lucky and can somehow magically avoid getting oneshotted in a raid, i would stay away from rolling a troll warrior.

come to think of it, why did i roll one o.O /facepalm /reroll as orc

I happen to like my Troll Warrior. :P

Some races really do have traits that are well-suited to Warriors but if I'm going to level a character to 70, I have to like looking at it.

I'm with you on that! The Troll racials are pretty much useless for warriors, but you don't see many of them running around, and that I like. Undead, Tauren, and Orc warriors are a dime a dozen.

Undead, Orc, or Tauren. Their racials are good. You might not need WoTF as much, but it is still good. The health bonus on the Tauren actually kind of does make a difference in the long run. 5% is a lot.

I do use the Berserking racial quite a bit. I throw it in while tanking and my threat-per-second shoots way up above the rest of the party. I treat it like another trinket and hit it whether or not my health is low. I can blow through a full rage bar in seconds just by hitting Berserking and spamming HS and Devastate.

The only complaint I ever ran into while tanking on my Troll Warrior is that people sometimes mistake my Warrior for an enemy mob and try to target me in certain Troll instances like ZF. LoL

I picked UD for my horde warrior for 1 reason really. Cannibalize. Seriously that racial decided it for me. Would much rather have a silence move like the Belfs but sense that is not an option Cannibalize is it for me.

A slight help in down time and less bandages I will have to burn through in the long run. But if your picking your race based off a "Better suited" for such and such job then Tauren or orc is the way to go.

I really don't care much for the "racials" so much as the looks though. I don't see myself playing another Tauren through the levels as I can barely stand my druid or my shaman atm.

Tauren are probably my favorite race. But that has little to do with racials. I just like big uglies, and the way cows look in armor.

Something to bear in mind... if you end up tanking, Tauren racials are to survivability as Orc racials are to TPS. Both are important, but all the TPS in the world isnt going to help you if you cant survive. I concur that cows are marginally better suited for tanking. That said... my Warrior is an Orc, and I certainly don't feel gimped or anything. Would love it if Blood Fury didnt have that side effect that made it kindof a high risk ability in groups... but I do okay without using it.

One think I think you should bear in mind is the Tauren's size (males at least). If you're running through buildings, mines etc you will find it difficult to see anything, other than a large lump of beef. If you can manage this though, go for cow.

As a tauren warrior, i can only give you one advice that hasn't been featured in this thread already.

Don't pick tauren if you wanna fit through doors.

I mean it.

EDIT: To clarify a bit, undercity doors, a lot of house doors, you'll never fit when you're mounted. specially with a kodo or a raptor. So if you do pick a tauren warrior, which i think is best suited for tanking and possible for pvp considering survivabilty + stun rocks pvp. Pve fury warrior probably orc the best but yeah.

There is a benefit to this, getting a growth potion and running to sen'jin village, making the doctor give you the growth buff and then getting a shaman to pop bloodlust while mounted in ogrimar, makes you a HUGE MOTHER****ER lol.

Human. If you like to play alliance go human for diplomacy. It wont help you kill stuff but its nice being way ahead in faction at the end of the day. Faction, btw, is a huge part of the game and the most grueling.
