Howdy, my rogue is currently 65 and sitting at something like 5/36/15. He'll end up 5/41/15 on his current path, which leads to my question: Do both hands proc if you are specced? Right now I am specced combat swords. I was curious if I took the 5 points out of assassination and moved them into say Maces, and used a mace in MH and a sword in OH would the mace stun proc as well as the sword's extra attack, or does only the MH proc?

Main hand and Off-hand both proc.

However, getting 2 weapon specs is a waste of 5 talent points...

If you want to stun, use maces and spec for that, if you want the extra damage spec swords and go for that...

The proc is triggered by a strike from a weapon of the specialization type. So only a sword strike can trigger sword spec proc. Only a mace can stun.

With sword spec, its a main hand attack, regardless of which hand caused the proc.

If you spec both mace spec and sword spec...well thats a waste of 5 points.

Well, he said he was going 5/41/15, so he's already wasting 15 talent points.

Why not waste another 5?

5/41/15 is optimal for neither PVE nor PVP, so yes IMO it sucks.

I didn't ask your opinion, actually. I asked the following:

It was answered with:

Thus your reply of:

has no bearing on the question. Again, carefully read my initial post as quoted above. Nowhere in that statement does it ask: Can you give me feedback on my spec?

Namely because I already have the feedback I want. From this site, in fact. I took that feedback, took what I enjoyed playing most, and came up with a spec that does what I need it to do.

Enjoy playing what you want. Unfortunately, games like this always bring out the elitists who feel that everything must be done at maximum efficiency. While they play that way in games, they seldom follow the same principles in real life.

And nobody cares. You come to forums asking questions, it's assumed that you want to know ways in which to improve your character. As someone said,

Techically, this post is incorrect. Mace + sword is an inefficient use of dual weapon spec, but in some cases(see Sword+Fist spec) it has the potential for higher dps than every build except Combat swords, which it falls behind ever so slightly.

There's another reason to bad mouth your crappy 5/41/15 spec and that's because when we play on alts we often pug with you dumb sobs who think your 'leet' spec and pvp gear is really gonna make the difference in, say any lvl 70 instance. Or when we bg with you and you can't kill anything other than clothies below 30%. Read the stickies and learn some f****** synergy.

I read these forums a couple times a week generally and i see some stupid spec questions but i had no idea how bad it was til i started tanking on my pally. By and large the rogues out there are freaking retarded. Of the 7-8 i've grped with this last week, 2 have known how to sap correctly and only 2 others(1 was the same, lol) have beaten me significantly in dam(as the tank).

Anyone reading these threads anyone should realize that it's ruled by elitists bent on perfectly efficient DPS and/or ruling the arenas. If you post any questions... well, it's "in for a penny, in for a pound" honestly. And, thinking about it, would you really want any advice from people who aren't perfectionists?

Funny... Just last night I was very happy to group with another rogue who actually knew how to sap without getting caught, where to be during combat and to keep SnD up at all times. A rare thing as most rogues I've grouped with are not very good at instances (for various reasons). Of course, the same can be said for every class.

Rate ups both.

combat is a dps build.

There are few talents more important to dps than Relentless. That requires 11 in assass.

Done.

Depends on the cereal. I would think Apple Jacks + Apple Cinnamon Clorox would be the best.
