I have 3 alliance level 70s but decided a few days ago to level a horde rogue.

Having never played a rogue before, all three trees seem to be 'good' to a untrained eye so I was wanting some help. My sole goal is pvp as I have other toons for pve.

Build #1: What should I spec to get to 70 as easy as possible. Having done the level grind so many times I don't really look forward to it.

Build #2: Spec I need to battleground my *** off once dinging 70 to get epic armor/weapons. I am so burnt out on BG from my other toons that I think I'd mainly want to kick back in AV and stealth and gank lone players guarding/capping. Id also be spending some downtime time at work causing caos in Stormwind killing auctioneers, hiding and ganking, and such. Off course to my amature eyes Sub tree seems the way to go?

Build #3: Once I have my basic battleground epics I'd switch gears and turn to 2v2 arena to better the epics to the seasons and partner up with my local friend who will either be using his feral druid already in battleground epics or a rogue he is currently leveling now.

Build #1:
For leveling, combat swords is definitely the way to go followed closely by combat maces. Go down the combat tree at least until you get Adrenaline Rush (AR), then you can either finish out the combat tree and go to assassination tree, or go there right after you get AR.

Build #2:
For the kind of PvP you're talking about doing, I would suggest the sub tree. I think Theo (Korz) has a good example of a sub build. He also uses it for Arena if I'm not mistaken. (Please don't flame me if'n I's wrong, Theo :) )

Build #3:
Admittedly, I'm not the best person to give information on this but my 2c says that either combat maces (for the stuns) or deep sub (Shadowstep) would be good. I like the way Theo's build looks and I've been thinking about trying it out. It looks fun.

Well I'm definitely no expert but I figured I'd try to help you out as best I can. Oh, read the stick(y/ies) if you haven't already.

Good luck.

Broadly speaking; Combat is the PvE tree, Subtlety is the PvP tree, and Assassination is the supplementary tree that everyone has a few points in. That's of course an inaccurate generalisation, (there's Combat Maces for PvP and muti rogues) but it's a good place to start from if you were like me, just looking at the trees and going "But they all deal damage, right?"

A ShS build is probably the best pvp spec you can do at the moment. It's mostly gimmicks, but effective gimmicks.
