Separation of Church and State(or PvE and PvP)Follow

WTF?

Arena/PvP gear with PvE tokens

- Armory stage of sunwell unlocked on US pve realm, you can now turn in pve tokens for Arena/PvP items.
- Tier 4 tokens for Gladiator Season 1.
- Tier 5/6 tokens for Gladiator Season 2.
- Badges of Justice for all PvP gear.
- Sunwell Tier 6 tokens for Vindicator Armor.

Tbh, I think this is ridiculous. I thought they we're trying to seperate the people who PvE and ones who PvP. Huge QQ inc.

I guess it's so people with no skill at pvp can pretend that they do.

I think it's a good idea because it lets you get whatever you want for the tokens/badges that you collect. More choices couldn't be a bad thing right? I think they are trying to pull high-end PVE chars into PVP.

Imo, it's a bad idea. If you can't receive tier pieces for arena points, why should you receive arena pieces for tier tokens?

Just keep it separate.

Yeah.

It makes one superior to the other.

I honestly suck at PvP, badly. Which is why I find it really rewarding to actually work on my skills in PvP and when I finally get that PvP piece I wanted, it is an accomplishment. Making this obtainable with PvE tokens is just ... wrong.

To be fair, farming the Glad gear doesn't take any skill whatsoever. S1 just requires that you ***** BG's a lot, and S2-3 requires minimal weekly effort over an extended time period. Even if you completely suck and lose 10 games straight for weeks on end you're still eventually going to save up for your pieces.

The only thing that really determines whether you're good or bad in PvP is whether or not you win or lose when everyone's in full PvP gear. Actually having the gear is zero indication of your skill.

S3 weapons and S3 shoulders are some indication of skill.

Nobody is good enough to even carry 1 person on a 2v2 to a 1850 or 2000 rating.

Not a bad change, its just removing the bottleneck for people to gain entry into Arenas so you have more of a pool to recruit people from. Its the same concept behind removing HP delay and the attunement process. Just removing a roadblock for people trying to get into PvP.

Gonna have to disagree. I carried my priest to 1900 last season.

Of course it's more difficult with a class your own class doesn't synergize well with, but for rogues, if you find an awesome frost mage, you can get to 1900-2000 pretty easily.

You also only need a good Druid to hit 2000 in 2v2. You can do it with a very mediocre Warrior or Warlock.

I guess I don't see the problem. High-end (reasonably high-end, anyway) PvEers can get subpar PvP gear? Well, gee... if you've been raiding, you really could have easily AFKed your way to a full set of S2 by this point.

Any raider who's been interested in PvP isn't going to be effected by this change. Any raider who isn't still isn't going to care. And the separation went out when PvP gear started being as good or better than PvE equivalents... for PvE.

Uh, duh?

I didn't mention "Moonkin" either, but it's more or less obvious what was referenced. I have a Druid guildie who respecs Resto for 2v2, it's not exactly hard or out of the question to have more than one set of gear and/or to respec for Arenas.

Actually dreamstate druids are pretty good too, but I guess they require some skill to play other than tossing hots and running.

well at least now its even, both pvpers and pvers are mad at how easy it is to get gear. Working as intended?

Saw a good idea on the o-boards, combine personal rating, honor and arena points for T5 level gear. Say 1850+ for shoulders, 1950 for gloves, 2000 for legs and 2200 for pants/helm, as well as a sizable amount of arena points (5000) and honor (30,000).

Isn't the point of PvE gear (for rogues) that it is all about DPS stats, where as PvP gear is all about survivability? Maybe rogues would be better in 5v5's if they could gear out in T6?

PvP isn't really all about survivability. Most rogues once they get into full arena gear will start gearing towards full Agi/AP (as long as their hit is above 79 /cough).
