I'll try to keep this quick. A few opinions on this matter would be great, I like to weigh pros and cons.

My question is, is there a good time to wield 2 handed as a Enhancement Shaman? I plan on staying enhancement until the cap so it's going to be awhile. I DW anything with decent stats and 2.40spd or higher but I was thinking of keeping a 2hd'r in the bags for whatever reason. Granted a huge axe is a beautiful thing but is it even going to be useful or will I always go back to DW'ing? My guess is; no, 2handed is useless in this tree. Oh well. A good bit of input would be great, thank you in advance for your help.

A 2H weapon will usually be your best bet for PvP. DW is better in PvE since you get more procs (you've got three crit-proc-based talents), and it's a more consistent, higher sustained damage. But really, you can use a 2H weapon for Enhancement as little or as much as you please, it's perfectly fine.
Bottom line: if you really just like using 2H weapons, then by all means, use one. But I would plan on dual-wielding in raiding and such where your DPS actually begins to be severely important. It's also much, much easier to maintain a stable threat level with DW. 2H is very sporadic and bursty.

I've got a 63 enhancement shammy, and there are a few instances where I'd use a two-hander instead of dual-wielding. Mainly there are some ravager mobs on the border between Hellfire Peninsula and Zangarmarsh that do reactive damage, and with dual-wielding and stormstrike, that really was a pain. Of course, the only other mobs I know of that do reactive damage are some turtles in Dustwallow.
Anyway, yeah, other than PvP, you're probably best off dual-wielding.

2H is essentially inferior to DW no matter what you are doing. Sometimes you get those huge "OMFGWF" moments with a 2H, but with the way resil works, those moments are few and far between.
For a while I thought 2H was the best for PvP, but when I picked up my epic Axes, I saw a HUGE increase and damage and in Arenas I was wiping the floor with my opponents faster than ever.
