Heroics, am I ready?Follow

#1 Feb 15 2008 at 2:30 PM Rating: Default
Couple quick questions here.

1)Am I ready to start out heroics?
( Armory) My armory hasnt updated yet, but I have 491 defense, 11.7k armour, 11.5k health, 28% dodge and parry, 17.5% block.

2) If I am, which heroics should I start out with first? I was looking heroic Seth for The Boomstick but I'm not sure If I could tank it.

3) If I am not ready for heroics, what should I do to upgrade my gear?
(btw, im questing for This and im running arc for this . (I also have Dabri's Engima, armory hasnt updated yet though)

Thanks for the help.

You could probably do some of the easier heroics. Slave Pens comes to mind. You can do Mech if you have a good healer (and by good I mean +1500 or more healing bonus). Mech is actually pretty easy, but without a strong healer the Tempest Forge Destroyers will rip you a new *******. If you add a Warlock to that, Mech is really easy.

Forget about Sethekk for a while. When you've got about 13k armor 12.5k health unbuffed, about 32% dodge/parry combined you can try Sethekk. The problem is a lot of the mobs in there can't be CC'ed at all, so you'll be doing multi-mob tanking. Holding aggro isn't the problem, but not dying is. They hit about 2.5k per hit, every second or so. So that's like 5k damage per second (estimate) that your healer is trying to keep up with. Also, keep in mind that The Boomstick drops from an optional boss that can only be summoned by a Druid, so it's not like you could just join a random Sethekk PUG and hope to get that.

Everyone says Ramparts is really easy, but the problem with ramparts is that the pulls can be large. If you have competent CC it's doable, but that usually isn't the case as I've found out. Most of the pulls in Ramparts are 4-5 mobs, and some of them like the dogs, rippers, and bonechewers hit really hard.

So my advice for all-around easiest heroic is Slave Pens. But if you have a Warlock and really strong healer, do Mech.

Thanks. Another quick question, I got a few upgrades, so im sitting on about 12k health, close to the stats in my first post. I linked my armory, mabye its updated. Is this enough to tank kara?

(easy to read format; Unbuffed)
Defense-496
Armor-11760
Health-12014
Dodge-12.98%
Parry-15.84%
Block-17.74%

Are those numbers high enough to OT/MT kara?

::EDIT::
Armory updated, fixed numbers. For some reason it says im in "Destiny Awaits Us", but im in Mitsuragi Clan. Odd.

You can probably OT in Kara with those stats. If you do the quest chain for the Grom'tor's Charge weapon that would give you quite a big boost to your stamina as wel.
