I Am Not a TaxiFollow

Today I was in a group that formed to kill the 4 dragons in Blades Edge Mountains. The first rouge disconnected, or just logged, so we replaced him with another rogue.

Things were going fine, we had downed all the dragons and got our cloaks, but the rogue was not here when we killed the first dragon, so we went back to kill him.

During the last dragon, the rogue wanted a summon to him, I told her no because she close enough to fly. So nothing happened then, but this time, when we had all flown to the egg, the rogue had actually flown away. She then asked me for a summon, and I told her I would not, that she should have flown over when everyone else did. I told her that if she had a good excuse, like regeats, food, or repairs, I would summon her. She did not, so she left the party.

Everyone else was understanding, and they didn't need the last dragon - only she did.

Was it wrong of me to not summon the rogue? I hate it when people try to take advantage of locks. Summoning a friend from another zone or something I understand, and help with, but I felt like the rouge was using me as a taxi. I was low on Soul Shards, but I could have summoned her. So I am wondering, was I being selfish? Should I have given in and summoned her?

If she had an excuse like she was making some tea, going to the bathroom, repairs or something like that I would have summoned her. If they were just sitting around letting you run then asking for a summon then I would do the same thing. Especially when youre not the one that needs to kill the mob.

I am very sorry, I usually spell rogue correctly and did not notice that mistake. I will go write rogue out 50 times now, thank you for pointing out that, embarrassing, mistake.

As for your topic, I would have summoned him.

I am also sorry for the spelling mistake having to stay like that, for some reason I cannot edit my post - I edited it, but when I click the edit button nothing happens. Again, I am very sorry for that mistake.

But the rogue didn't have a good excuse. She was just to lazy to come, so she waited for everyone else to go to the egg and then asked me to summon. I was angered that she tried to abuse me, so I didnot summon

So? Don't be a prick. It costs you a damn soul shard and some mana. If you had to go find 2 other people to help summon that would be 1 thing, but who is lazier? The person who didn't have a satisfactory excuse or the *** hole who wouldn't click a single button to expedite matters?

Usually I'd agree with that Loki but honestly there is some principle to the whole thing that definatly would irk me too.

If I'm doing something for someone, especially SOLEY for them, I want to see SOME effort coming out.

I've summoned the healer 3 times to an instance in a matter of minutes because he kept forgetting something, mage ported him off and then summoned, rinse and repeat. While I am forced to think this guys a doofus, he is indeed getting something necessary to operate in the group. This sort of thing doesn't **** me off at all.

Someone bugging an entire group to do a monster *over* again and then refuses to run to the monster and requests when the rest of the group gets there to get a Port is ridiculous.

I probobly would have just left at that point, to be quite honest.

Some people need to show they at least have the drive enough to put some effort, say holding down the "w" button for a few minutes, or at least doing /follow. Christ...

Tzsjynx has pointed out my thoughts exactly, I completely agree.

Loki, I see where you're coming from, but calling me an "*** hole" was rude and not needed.

That was the second time she asked for a summon, the first time I kindly told her to just fly because she was so close. The second time she was farther away, but she could have just as easily flown, it would have taken at most 30 seconds. I came in that group to help out, so I came with only 16 Soul Shards. I was down to 2, and by summoning her I would sacrificed a health stone, soul shard, or demon that the group did not need, but could use.

The extra mob was for her, the entire group did not need it. In fact, when I asked her if she had a good excuse for not coming when the entire group did and she replied "no", it was the tank who left because he was tired of her. The entire group understood, and everyone agreed that the rogue was the wrong one.

Now, what if in groups everyone didn't bother to go with the rest of the group to the next objective? What is they just waited for a warlock to get there, and then demand, not even ask, for a summon? As a warlock, I would not like that at all, and would not encourage it.

As Tzsjynxc said, I could understand if they forgot food, regeants, drink, had to make coffee, just joined the group, etc. Even if they weren't too bright, and needed many summons because they keep forgetting something, I could understand that too, everyone makes mistakes.

This person did not have an excuse for not coming with the rest of the group. She could not even press the numlock key or type /follow. A sign of lazyness that should not be dealt with or encouraged.

laziness is extremely frustrating. If someone has to take care of RL stuff or they are doing something "urgent," then sure...I'll summon them everytime. But when they just want to goof around for another 5-10 mins instead of plopping their lazy butts on a bird/zep....I have no problem pretending to be AFK myself when they ask for a summon. =)
