Hi. You've probably emerge on the forums before, asking spec help. Well, here I am again.

That's my current spec. I'm pretty happy with it; before I've tried something along the lines of that and found it fun. My problem is... the whole AP-POM Pyro trick keeps bugging me. Do any of you arcane-fire mages find it immoral one-shotting other level 70s? I mean, there's just about no skill to it!
I guess what I want to say is, is there an alternative spec to this? I like it because of the increase in spell damage and intellect, but what I really want is decent sustained DPS on single targets. I also want a little AoE viability for raiding. Finally, I'm looking for something that makes me switch around my battle cast sequences often (something fun and skill-requiring).
Just want to learn how to mage decently. Any feedback is welcome. Thanks in advance!

If you are one-shotting other 70s they must be naked, or at least not have any pvp gear.
That being said... what level raiding are you speaking of and do you plan to pvp with it? Can you link your armory profile to get an idea of the stats that you have before I recommend a build for you?
If you have over 800 firedmg unbuffed (without mind mastery) then I would recommend either the 10/48/3 or 2/48/11 build (both should be found in the greatest mage post ever).
the casting sequence for those is scorchx5 fireballx7 scorchx1 fireballx7 etc.

Yeah, I plan to do a little PvP with my spec, but not much. Anyhow, at the moment my account is frozen over because I haven't set up a subscription in a while. Waiting for a relative to mail a game card over because I don't live in the states. But before I "quit" WoW, I was doing Kara runs with my guild. I thought I was doing pretty well, not bad DPS and being good utility.
But when soloing outside of raids and 5-mans, it was constantly AP-POM Pyro, mob dead. I want some more diversity. Sorry I said 1-shotting, I kinda meant NPCs not players. That's my dilemma.
(BTW, because my account is frozen I don't show up on Armory. I have about 11k mana, 500-some intel, 300+ stamina, and all blues except for epic bracers and boots I believe)

Well of course not, but it's like after every AP-POM I spend 3 minutes floundering around with random spells, eagerly waiting for the CD for finish.

Yes, 10/48/3 will be better than 2/0/0 (I am assuming you meant to link a ap-pom-pyro build).
for raiding it will defintely be better.
