Just hit 70 and want to start pvping for gear rather than raiding a whole bunch. I figure pvping will take less time and i can still get into SSC with arena gear. anyways i am BM build and thinking about respeccing to this for BG/arena. i wanted to include SS and wyvern but also wanted pet to be a bit viable so threw in a lil mix. suggestions please.

It doesn't look like you are aiming for anything, just have alot of points spread out.

If you want a good hybrid build, I'd try this:

the only way for a SV hunter to survive a rogue onslaught would be to get them away from you or root them in place. Deterance will you get away, counterattack will help you keep them in place as well as entrapment, and scatter shot for when all else fails.

You can also move the points from improve sting to multi shot but it would seem that draining mana and DoTs are the way to go these days.

Trust me, you wont get into SSC if all you did at 70 is pvp.
SSC requires more then just good gear, namely Raiding experience.
Also, if you cant be bothered with raiding Karazhan for a few months because it takes to long why do you think SSC will be that much better?

Also getting S3/4 gear takes quite some time too, and S1 wont be enough to raid SSC.
It simply lacks intellect and attack power.

I agree..
You need to have some raiding experience under your belt before you think of going into SSC.
At least if you want to have a good chance of contributing to the guild.

Having the gear only gives you the minimum requirements for being able to survive somewhat..
Understanding what you are fighting and how to handle any situation that pops up gives you the edge.

im going to raid KZ. and gruul and everything up to SSC. i just dont want to have to repeat all of those for gear. exp? hell yeah. i need it and i know i need it.

as far as the build goes. i wanted to get wyvern sting and SS primarily for cc. and with some "extra" points i wanted to get imp. AotH and focused fire.

i just wanted to try something outside of cookie cutters

PS bravefenceralucard: your link takes me to the same build i just posted.

and i never said all i was going to do at 70 was pvp. dont put words in my mouth. i said i prefered to pvp over raiding KZ over and over because i honestly wanted to mess around with builds a lil more and get some more exp with pvp as a hunter. granted i need exp raiding too, but i can get pvp in when guildies arent around.

this did it for me i guess, it really looks like you dont care much and just want gear fast and easy.

And technically, you can get gear a LOT faster through raiding then through PvP ;)
If you have good gear for pre-raiding you can probably join a guild that has kara on farm and wants to start up a 2nd team/needs more people for Gruul.
Those guilds generally have members that only have a few pieces from kara that they still need, giving you the opportunity to get multiple epics in 1-2 nights of raiding.

That way, you'll also skip a lot of the grinding and wiping on karazhan and you can continue on to the grinding and wiping on gruul ;)

Though if you want to get into a guild that is at that stage, you'll need some nice gear too.
For that check the gearlist ;) stuff like the Ravenclaw Band and boots from Sethekk halls, Hellfire repspear, felstalker bracers, chestpiece and trinket from Black Morass should all be very reasonable to get and are some of the best pre-raid items.

Depending on the amount of play time you have each week, your best bet is probably a combination of Arena, BGs, and raids. Run the daily BG, form an Arena team or three and run those weekly, and run Kara weekly. If you do these consistently for 2 months you'll be dripping in Epics. The Arena will give you 1-2 Epics, depending on which items you chose to buy and how successful you are. The BGs will give you 1 Epic, and 2 months of Kara should give you a few, depending very much on what loot system your Guild uses and how well you contribute. If you can also spend about 2-4 hours per week running the weekend BG you can add 1-2 Epics from BG Honor.

All said and done, 2 months might see you with very few blues left, if you plan your time carefully.

As far as spec goes, I suggest you speak to some Guild mates and find out what spec they need. And speaking to them about your gearing strategy might be a good idea also.

I don't know much about gear for raiding besides what is on AEthien's list, but as for the build, I use a 11 / 41 / 9 build for 2s and 3s and I find it be quite successful in BGs to. Yes I know people will say Imp Conc Shot > Efficiency for PvP, but I'd rather have mana longer and be able to deal more damage without drinking than a chance to stun with my Conc Shot, but that's just personal prefence, both are viable skills. And Beastial Swiftness is incredible in Arena as it never allows your pet to be kited and keeps healers from being able to drink, and even a druid in travel form won't be able to get away from my pet for a sip.
