Bracing Earthstorm Diamond- help please!Follow

#1 Feb 13 2008 at 9:18 PM Rating: Decent
I'm like really stupid and can't figure out how to get more red than blue. Between my gloves, pants, and feet I have 4 blue sockets and 3 yellow sockets, and 1 red socket.

The cyclone headress (I'm resto shaman btw) also has a blue socket. So I have to make up for that too?

I just got my t4 helm. And I just can't figure out these stringent gem requirements. I'm mainly confused about the hybrid gems as I am currently using Luminous noble topaz's and Royal Nightseyes in my blue, yellow, and red sockets. I think those are orange and purple gems.

I hate to think I might actually lose stats than with my metallic headband of simm'onz. It's quest blue with no int on it, but has pretty good mp5 and healing on it. The T4 is good I suppose, I just can't figure out how to make Bracing Earthstorm Diamond to work with my equipment. I still haven't put it in yet btw.

The elemental shammy passed to get me this item, so I pretty much feel obligated to use this T4.

Should I go with another meta gem instead?

Here's my armory with my current helm on.

You know you don't have to use the same color gem as the socket right? You can use whatever color you want, you just don't get the little socket bonus.

then I really lose stats. my socket bonus's are intellect on 2 items, and +9 healing on the other.

I'm thinking about the int meta gem that has chance to give mana back. Is that any good for a healer?

I'm just wondering if my royal nighteyes are counting as red or blue for the count.

Nevermind, I figured it out. Our guildie who knows sh*t got out of the 2nd group kara run and cleared it up.

Purple gems (my royal nightseyes) count as both red and blue, so essentually cancel each other out. Which means my 2 orange gems count as red (and not blue) and put me over the edge. The key is I don't actually use blue gems, only purple and oranges.

And I'm over 1700 healing and only lose 2 mp5 (but gain a ******** of mana). I lose a good chunk of stamina too.

You'd be surprised how many people don't realize you can gem any way you want, it's just the socket bonus at stake. I wasted some brain power trying to make it work to before someone enlightened me.
