ok decided to cough up the cash for a decent enchant on my spellfire gloves.

That's my gear, ish depending on what set if got on at time of log but, should i invest in
+20 spell damage or
+15 spell hit
My hit rating is weak... but i just didnt know if that enchant was something a lot of mages went for. idk, any help would be great thanks

Until you get close to or hit the cap (164 with elemental precision maxed), invest in spell hit.

One qualifier here: the 164 cap is for raid bosses. You do not need that much +hit for 5mans. Not sure what the magic number is for those L.72 heroic bosses.

Very true, I normally take these questions as referring to raiding, if not raiding I believe a 72 would be something closer to 100-115-ish spell hit, I'm sure wowwiki can answer it for you, but I'm off to class!
Wow is it really that much hit for 72 bosses? Damn I guess I do need to get off my lazy *** and swap outta my PvP kit for those badge/rep runs. :0
Level 72 bosses is only 5% hit to cap (6% resist total). So with the talent in frost, you only need 25/26 hit to cap. However, you're frost, and atm the talent is bugged with frost and gives 6% to hit instead of 3%. So if all you're doing is 5-mans/heroics/PvP, you're capped already.
EDIT: I am normally specced 40/21/0 currently with first 2 pieces of spellfire. just went frost because i'm done with kara for the week and need to farm for my spellstrike pants.

Then you need a total of 5% from gear for heroics. 60-65 would do ya. For raid bosses, you need a full 202.
