PVP gear set bonusFollow

#1 Feb 13 2008 at 8:27 AM Rating: Decent
I am working on getting four pieces of the gladiator's refuge set to get the set bonus.

"Increases your movement speed by 15% while in Bear, Cat, or Travel Form."

My question is, if i spend my arena points and start getting pieces of the Vengeful Gladiator's Kodohide set, will i lose the set bonus? or are they interchangeable as a set?

Hope this makes sense, i don't post much, but i love all of the information you guys provide here.

You can mix and match Gladiators, S1 - S3. So if you had S1 hands, chest and legs, but S2 shoulders and S3 helm you would still be wearing 5 pieces of Gladiators.

What the above said, though, do notice that if you go from dragonhide (feral) to kodohide (resto) or wyrmhide (balance) the sets works as seperate sets, so even though you might wear 4 pieces arena gear, you won't get 4 piece bonus if 1 of the items is from another set.

Some people were talking about that yesterday, said it was in the patch notes. Don't know where to find those to check it out, can this rumor be confirmed? They said it made druid OP in PvP, lol.

From MMO Champion:
Quote:
# Druid Balance PvP Sets: The bonus movement speed for Bear, Cat, and Travel Form has been removed and replaced with a new bonus to Wrath and Starfire.
# Druid Feral PvP Sets: The bonus movement speed for Bear, Cat, and Travel Form no longer applies to Travel Form.
# Druid Restoration PvP Sets: The bonus movement speed for Bear, Cat, and Travel Form has been removed and replaced with a new bonus to Healing Touch.

Some screen shots too.

The intention is clearly to nerf as that's all the change to the feral set is. Hoepfully they'll tweak the spells for balance and resto as the current bonuses are all but useless.

I wonder if the bonus stacks with Feral Swiftness.

Forget about it - 2.4 ruins the 4 piece bonus totally unless you are a dreamstate PvE healer (but what would you use PvP sets for then?). Say goodbye to increased runspeed, and hallo to reduced casting time on healing touch, the least used resto spell I think (is soothe animal resto? don't know, haven't seen it since the day I trained it). Or if your balance druid - some procc chance off wrath for a 1.25 (I think) cast time starfire, which is kinda nice though.

I have read that the changes have been reverted somewhat.

Quote:
The Restoration 4-piece Gladiator set bonus has been changed in the next PTR build. It is now the old Stormrage set-bonus, which is -.2 seconds off Regrowth. In addition, the speed bonus to Cheetah will remain on the Feral 4-piece Gladiator set bonus.

Everything is still in testing, so who knows what we will end up with when it goes live. As usual, we will enjoy the buffs (multiple epic gems, sharpening stones, etc) and learn to deal with any nerfs that come our way.

One thing that hasn't got much comment is the fact that Primal Nethers & Nether Vortex's will be purchasable with badges AND are no longer BOP!

The change was from HT to regrowth as far as I'm aware - so they still removed the run speed bonus, which STILL sucks.

EDIT: The removal of the runspeed bonus that is.
