Was looking forward to logging on this morning & getting the S1 shoulder piece...
I was short 2744 honor, so last night I pvp'd until I registered 3003 honor. Blizz decided to give me 2549 honor leaving me < 200 honor shy -.-
Back to the drawing board, err... AV & another 24hr wait.

im guessing you did the BG daily? cuz it always bugs the estimated honor UI.
Good thing they're getting rid of that in 2.4.
Still sucks because it makes Outlands corpse camping more profitable, but instant honour is something I'm a big fan of.

ya, corpse camp til you get enough honor. go buy your new piece. resume corpse camping with greater effiency.
now that's a pvp system i could get into.
I didnt know the motivation for corpse camping was honor, just people being @ssholes.

It is/wasn't. Diminishing returns meant that a level 70 ganking a level 61 in Hellfire would end up getting 0 honour if he did it more than once or twice. Same for Battlegrounds, although that's technically an equal footing scenario. Diminishing returns needed nightly honour calculations, which heavy PvP'ers hated since they sometimes lost huge amounts of (their estimated) honour total.
So Blizz removes honour calcuations to make it easier, means instant honour. That's yay - but then there's no DR, meaning there is now actually a reason to gank Hellfire other than "cos it makes my epeen swell up and go epic."

DR im pretty sure refers to multiple kills of the same person.
a lvl 70 ganking a lvl 61 is still going to get crap for honor. he will just get crap for honor every time he ganks. rather then getting zero honor after the 1st-2nd kill . .
Current DR is -10% per HK of the same person. Regardless of the level spread it only takes 10 kill to net you zero honor.
with the current honor system being as it is. corpse camping would be far less honor then AV bonus (or any BG for that matter). which is why they (blizz) decided that DR was no longer needed.
Also, removing DR now that camping corpse for honor is inefficiant, brings more PvP back to the BGs. hopefully it will make AV play as intended. and with the comming Flag changes to WSG, this change will keep WSG from becomeing a HK farming BG.

What i want from AV patch 2.4:
Field of Strife 40 vs 40 HK farm until reinforcements are gone and defended towers for your side.
Honor gains for both sides will be huge, there will be lots of PvP (duh) and the games will be great honor/hour.
What is each HK worth in honor to a single player in AV?

yup.
At least it won't be a ton of BGs to get back the lost honor. Thing that bugged me was if I had known I needed that large of a buffer I would have just run one more AV. But I've never seen such a large mis-estimate.
partially do blame myself though, I checked my honor & saw it "seemed" to jump by quite a bit... almost looking like getting over 1k for one AV run. Didn't put too much thought into it though since I have gotten over 700 honor for a good run before in AV. But it still should have triggered me to build a better buffer ><

I'm still going to blame Blizz for forcing me to wait another night. Especially since I'll be getting my shoulders on a day I'll be at work - then at school until wee hours of the night.
