Dragonstrike Worth it?Follow

#1 Feb 12 2008 at 10:28 PM Rating: Decent
Hello i was just wondering if it was worth it to pick up blacksmithing the sole purpose being the 1h mace series. (drakefist hammer)-->(dragon maw)--> (dragonstrike)

Probably not the reasons being:

A) Its gonna be expensive to powerlevel.

B) Its gonna be EVEN more expensive if you dont have mining.

C) Other professions like enchanting are cheaper and will provide bigger improvement.

D) Only marginally better than Merciless Gladiator's Pummeler (if u prefer haste over res, ap etc.)

Just my 2c.. Cheers

Take Engineering instead and get s1 maces or s2/3 with points.

The problem with going this route is you become locked into it. If I try to roll on swords in raids my guild wonders why they handed over 5 vortex to me to get dragonstrike in the first place.

Just grind arena points or do ZA for the swords in there.

Only do this if you really like farming.

I was able to powerlevel my skill up to the level needed to make drakefist, but spent about 2.5k gold in the process, then another 500 or so for the mace itself. I hate farming, so I blew all the money I acquired to make this. Looking back, I could be closer to my epic flyer. And the mace isnt any better than the S1 Mace, asside from the haste bonus. Its Preference there, but the damage is about the same. But if you dont mind farming, and the time it takes to skill up mining (a must here, no question), AND have a guild to get you into 25 mans.... go for it. It does look sexy as hell, after all!

I did it once and I kinda regretted it and ended up going back to Enchanting. Once you get the mace you cant really do anything else with the profession..
