From PvP to raiding specs??Follow

OK, first of all...I'm only lv 17. And ive been specing into the frost build b/c i thought i wanted to PvP. Now after reading so much about mages and PvP and how much fun raiding is...I think i'd rather go in that direction.

So my question is, if I'm wanting to Raid...do i/should i switch from frost to fire for greater DPS, or should i just stick with Frost and continue grinding.
I personally wanted to go fire b/c of pretty dps numbers, but frost seems to be more handy to everyone.

You have about 53 levels before you can do any raiding. Stick with what you feel confident in and then change your spec whenever you want to try something new. I leveled frost since around the mid-20s, and stayed that way until after I made my Frozen Shadoweave set (3-piece epic tailored set) and then made my spellfire (the fire/arcane based set) -- quite a bit of money/grinding involved. Fire, later, will be better for raiding, but just focus on the next 5 levels, not 50, and you will do fine.

My Mage hit 69 yesterday and I have been frost from very beginning. Because your mage is quite low level you dont know what frost (or fire) has to offer. My plan is to skip on fire side after I hit 70 just for raiding spec.

I really loved leveling with frost. It's just easy when you don't get hit by mobs and after little training you can easily take on more and more mobs. I dont have anywhere near good gear but still I love to see how single mobs suffer when I encounter them. Couple frost bolts first (with frostbite helps also =) )and then hit that sad little creature with frost nova -> blink & see how frostbolt and icelance hit frozen mob at the same time with 4-4.5k.

It's totally up to you. If you like to pyro something then you need to go fire. If you want more control over thinks then you use frost. Many say it also, frost means more survivability.
