Fury Warrior gem questionFollow

DW Fury warrior here. I'm SLOWLY starting to gather my pre-Kara gear and I just have a quick gemming question. What stats should I shoot at first? After reading the FAQs I can safely assume I should go for +hit. But once I cap that (143 I think the FAQ said) should I work on STR, AP, or Crit? The FAQ shows that STR = 2.2 AP (imp Berserk stance). It also says I should work on getting my crit to 25% to maximize Flurry. Should I just ignore AP for now and work on STR and Crit? If so why work on AP at all (I assume I'm misreading the whole STR vs AP thing but hey, thats why I'm asking)?

Thanks!

I could be wrong but the "143" isn't the cap, just a nice number to aim for to start Kara with to minimize misses. I think the cap is over +200 to hit.

142 will cap you so you never miss special attacks. This is the minimum you have to have get that first.

Never socket AP gems always socket str gems. Str gems scale with blessing of kings AP gems do not.

Your priorities are hit to 142 > crit to 25% in battle stance > as much str as you can get.

Do not however stop at these numbers you can go well beyond 142 hit and 25% crit without sacrificing str.

Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks!

zerker stance improves AP regardless if it is through STR or straight AP. 2.2 comes from Blessing of Kings as it does add to str, but not ap.

there is an AP gem that is still worth socketing.

the +20 from pvp vendors is still fairly decent to socket

small clarification

142 hit isn't the minimum that should be in your hit box when you look at your character melee info as it doesn't factor in precision. Your hit from the melee box + 3% should add up to the equivalent of 142 hit rating total

As shown above, your base chance to miss a raid boss while dual wielding is 28% with auto-attack on both hands. Your base chance to miss a special attack is 9%. For each 15.77 hit rating you equip, you reduce your chance to miss by 1%. Thus we can calculate hit caps for auto-attack and special attacks:

All melee
Dual-wield auto-attack: 442 hit rating
Special attack or Single-wield auto-attack: 142 hit rating

Warriors
Dual-wield auto-attack, with 3/3 Precision (Warrior talent): 395 hit rating
Special attack or Single-wield auto-attack, with 3/3 Precision (Warrior talent): 95 hit rating

Thanks for the info, that clears it up quite a bit.

Going forward, would you recommend just shooting for 142 then concentrating on Crit and Str?

Obviously the more +hit the better but would it be worth it to increase it above 142 and sacrifice the Crit and Str?

Once your at 9% total hit make crit yoour priority, once you get 25% crit in battle stance make str your priority. Extra hit and crit will come with the same gear the str gear comes with. These guide lines are mainly for gemming and enchanting.
