Spammable Maul Button/MacroFollow

As it stands, if I want to activate maul every time I can, I need to activate it after every time it's up, but I can only push the button once. Is there a macro I can use to replace my maul button, like "/cast !maul" or something to that effect (what would be the proper way to write it) so I don't toggle maul, but I activate it? Is there also a way then to make a [modifier: shift] that will deactivate it if I change my mind?
If I can get a macro like this, it will allow me to have control over maul without necessarily having to worry about whether or not it's on or off before I toggle it.

Note that I looked through the feral section on the macro post linked in the sticky, but they didn't seem to be updated with ! commands, and didn't appear to have the one I wanted. I'm also not looking for a combination macro (I like my buttons separate) but a more manual version of maul.

Hey Skribby, I keep waiting for somebody else to help you out here, based on the assumption that what you're saying makes sense even though I don't understand what you're talking about.

That still might happen, but after a full day of silence from the masses I'll just chime in at the risk of looking stupid to let you know that I personally have NO bloody idea what you mean by "toggling" or "activating" Maul. "To toggle" means to turn something on or off. You talk about Maul being On or Off. URH?!? WTH does that mean? At first I thought maybe you were talking about the Mangle debuff being active or expired on a mob, but that doesn't add up with what you're asking either, I don't think.

So you might want to try re-explaining what you're looking for here.

As a low level druid I think I know what he is trying to ask. When I press maul when I have enough rage the button lights up and then when I attack I use maul. Now at low levels bears don't attack real fast and that maul can be sitting there waiting for awhile, especially if I press the button right after I attack. If I press the maul button twice in between attacks (or any even number of times really) then I don't maul on my next attack. What I think Skribs is asking for is some button so that he can keep hitting maul with out the risk of it not going off.

Ah, thanks for clarifying. I only use Maul as a rage dump in combat so have never wanted to untoggle it after clicking it and thus didn't even know it worked that way.

Unfortunately I still can't help as I'm not familiar with the ! commands he mentions, but at least I know what he's talkin about now. : )

Right now, my maul button works like this:
Press Once: Maul is active, next auto-attack it will go (unless I drop below 10 rage before then).
Press Twice: If my auto-attack has not gone off, maul will be cancelled. In order to maul, I will have to press the button again.

What I want is a macro that will allow me to turn on maul, but will not deactivate it unless I use a modifier.

Have you tried using the /cast !maul you suggested yourself? Based on my limited experience with macros i would think that one might actually work as intended.

Honestly, I have so much doubt in my macro-writing abilities that I did not even bother to try it.

The macro works, however it does not appear to. When I hit "1" (my maul button) twice, the icon lights up and then dims, but I still get a yellow hit on the mob.
I don't know how to write a macro command to cancel maul, though.

Yeah, I must admit that I have been a bit worried by this myself. When I have heaps of rage, i just spam the maul button as well as hitting my mangle & lacerate. I thought it was turning off sometimes as you say, but I don't think I am missing many of them.

A macro to do what you want would probably be a good idea for me too.
