Let me start by saying that I tried to find this information but couldn't after some google and wow site searches.

I am now convinced that key bindings are the way to go. Just by binding CS to the 3 key I can see a difference in instances and arena.

I've found a lot of suggested key binding setups for mages but they are using the pre-set keys of q,e,r, etc... I can't figure out how to reprogram them from their default to things lik ice lance, elemental, frost nova, etc.. Is their a guide somewhere that shows you how to do this?

My armory has my PVE set showing right now, I have the full season 1 set and the season 3 gloves on my pvp set.

The easiest way that I have found to bind anything to any key is with the addon Bongos.

This addon is an action bar replacement so it will take some time to set up the way that you want it, but I have found it invaluable. Inside the menu for the addon you will see a tab labeled Bindings. Simply open that and then you can just mouseover anything that you want to bind (works even from the spellbook) and then hit the key that you want it bound to. It works like a charm!

Take an hour and try it. I'm confident that you'll find it extremely helpful.
