I heard that you could cross train pets if you can then what pets and what abilitys can be cross trained?[] Text[/] Like the bear has claw can the bear be trained in bite if so what pet has bite so i can learn that?

The Petopia link Aethien provided shows all the pet families and the additional skills each can learn (besides growl, cower, cobra reflexes, etc. that all pets can learn).
For example, Bears can learn Bite and Claw. Depending on the level of bear you tame, it may come with one skill, both skills, or none at all. There are a ton of pet families that have the Bite skill. You could tame any of them, learn the skill from that pet, and then train it to your bear.
Does that make sense?

I've found that Petopia can be a little confusing sometimes when looking at abilities.
I've just swapped my pets around to provide cross training. For example:
I picked up a Black Ravager Mastiff:

from Duskwood recently, as it has Bite level 4 and Furious Howl level 2 when tamed.
If I wanted to I can teach it growl as I have this ability available from a previous pet. (Petopia doesn't mention that it can be taught growl, as it is a family ability)
I will next find a Kurzen War Tiger:
http://petopia.brashendeavors.net/html/mobs/mob_kurzenwartiger.shtml
Which has Dash when tamed.
I can then teach Dash to my Wolf.

On the Petopia site, clicking on the name of the ability will bring up a list of what pets have the ability when tamed. Clicking on the name of a pet shows what abilities it can be taught.

Growl can be learned by all pets and is taught by the Pet Trainer (located near most Hunter Trainers).
Every 'family' of pet has certain skills that it can learn from the Hunter. The Hunter learns these skills by taming wild pets that already know the skill and then working with the wild pet while it uses the skill until the Hunter gets a message saying he learned it. Not every pet can learn every ability so it is good to use a site like Petopia to research what skills your pet can learn and then research to find a wild pet to learn the skill from while your main pet is in the stable.
