I hit 70 about a month ago, I think. Been busy gathering the gear from the instances (no heroics yet) and I am currently at:
6367 hp 8417 mana
74 mp5
1112 healing
about 14% holy crit
I really want to go into Kara but my GM says that I need at least 1500 healing. I've spoken to my RL friends (who are already in BT) and they told me that 1500 is overkill for Kara. Since there are not many Guilds on ELune that raid at +8 GMT...I really want to at least get a taste of Kara without leaving this one.

Well you should get your crit and healing a little bit higher, but 1500 is definately overkill.

1500 is asking too much
but you have alot of gear that is easily upgraded through normal runs
alot of your gear is spell damage gear
your mana regen is on the low side
spell crit isn't too bad
base in our guild is 1200 healing
90 mp5 while casting
we would like 20% crit as well but we let that slide if the + healing or mana regen stands out a bit
also try to get above 7k life unbuffed
for really undergeared people we generally let them in up to curator for free loot but we have kara on farm and our runs now are like a alt fest
a guild that's struggling with kara doesn't have alot of room for undergeared people

I've been trying to replace the green bracers, green trink and the ring but the stuff refuse to drop in the instances. I'm saving up for my +healing enchant to my hammer (spent a lot on crafting it) and I'm about to start going to Shattered Halls and Auchenai instances regularly for the HH enchant and Lower City Prayer Book.
So basically, I'll have to aim for :
7k+ hp
20% crit
1200 healing and
90 mp5
At least I have a realistic pre-Kara target now. Not many people do regular instances on Elune now. Everyone's going for Heroics...not knowing that crap gear is a waste of time in there =/

yeah I have that problem on frostmane too, makes it a pain getting gear for my alts. As for the stats you're shooting for... 1200 is fine, 90 is fine... I'm not sure you'll be able to really pull off 20, but you can probably hit 18 and be ok. Don't concern yourself too much about your HP or MP. As long as you're not using greens, if you go for the other stuff, HP and MP will be there without trying to get it. Use my guide.
I did go through your guide, Dilbrt. It helped a lot but what's holding me back is geared guildies not willing to help me >_>
I'm now trying to get the helm from SV and hopefully farm enough to craft the epic bracers. I'm questing in Netherstorm for the ring and also SMV for my glove upgrade. Multiple Mana Tombs run for my gloves will be good too...I'm able to get Lower City rep.
