Best Main Hand sword for rogues?Follow

#1 Feb 11 2008 at 5:54 PM Rating: Decent
Hi,

I was wondering which level 70 Main Hand sword if I'm a rogue. My build is Combat Swords - 19/42/0 if that helps.

Blade of Infamy or Vengeful Gladiator's Slicer.
#4 Feb 11 2008 at 8:05 PM Rating: Decent
id take slicer over blade of infamy

you gain 32 base dmg, lose 17 max dmg
+30 stam
-28 agi
+8 hit (.51%)
+21 crit rating (.95%)
12 resi
-22 ap
ignore 49 armor

obviously you can work the agi loss into -crit, -ap and loss of minimal armor, but it should still come out relativly unchanged.

If you have to ask about those two swords, you're not at that point in the game yet.

Don't worry about it; you'll know which one to take by the time you get there.

Before the S1 sword was available via Honor farming, I got Grand Marshall's Slicer. I still use it, since I haven't had a chance to do much in the last few months as far as raiding goes.
Its a good sword to use until you get the Arena Points for the Merciless or Vengeful's mainhand and offhand.
I'll be truthful, I don't think I'm good enough at Arena to ever see the S3 weapons. But I almost have enough AP to get the S2 mainhand and offhand. I've been saving to get them both at the same time.
My best to you and yours,
Carmen

Speaking of, our first horde-side guild downed Illidan last night(yes, I know, months behind), and they had dual warglaives drop.

So...being the intelligent people that they are, what do they do?

SPLIT THEM UP....FOR ***** SAKE @#$)(U@#)$(U@#)$(U@#)$

I mean...seriously...how ******* dumb can you be?

I saw a rogue in a BG dual-wielding the warglaives and nearly feinted. Why would they split them up?

I've seen them several times in BG's. I proceed to beat the **** out of that player every single chance I get. I will ignore squishy healers below 20%. I will ignore everyone tapping the flag node. I will ignore everything to kill that ************ who has the warglaives.

I tried that once in AV, he tore my cloak and proceeded to take my lunch money in a fast and malicious manor.
Warglaives=Malicious intent.

If it's any consolation, I doubt it would have made him aggro someone else.

They claimed they wanted to keep the loot "fair"....yeah, **** that. So they gave one to a rogue, and one to a warrior.

A BT rogue has what? 8K hitpoints and zero resilience? Pop evasion and cut his face off Carmeliens.

You should be able to lock a pve rogue with no resilience from 8k to 0 pretty easily.

That may well be so, but unless he took a wrong turn on his way to BT, it seems a bit of a stretch to assume he didn't put his PvP gear on before coming out to play :)

The one I repeatedly smashed wasn't in pvp gear.

Eh, he probably wasn't an idiot. Maybe he just never pvp'd. Plenty of people don't. The only reason i singled him out for repeated ganking was my own unfettered jealousy.

I mean, he can probably do those 2/5 cycles like a champ. PvE is hard, isn't it?

Any smart rogue would duel wield the warglaives then wear full PVP gear in every other slot...

Well, I'm not very good at PvP. And I don't have a different set for either PvE or PvP. Just the one that I use. I did manage to get the veteran's leather boots though. And I've used Evasion a few times. I learned the hard way though when it comes to evasion and Warriors. That was certainly a poohy situation. Even though I've made it to 70, I'm still learning the Rogue craft. I have just over 12k kills in BGs. Gotten some nice comments on how I play thus far by other Rogues, other classes as well.

I don't know why my name comes up as Carmeliens, instead of Carmelien.
Thank you for the tips guys!
Carmen

Edit: I forgot to ask what a BT rogue is. So what is a BT Rogue?

BT = Black Temple - highest PvE instance currently in the game, and the place where Warglaives of Azzinoth drop. Only a very small percentage of players will see the inside of BT before the next expansion, and only a fraction of those will get the Warglaives.

The lesson from Eon's post is that high-end PvE gear doesn't get you a free ride against skilled, sensibly geared PvP players.

I'm sure you have already seen the armor and weapons I have. I have 8004 HP. It'll go up soon as I get the other PvP rewards. Which I do plan on getting. That should bring my HP up to about 10k.
And I will start using that Evasion trick more often. With my GM Slicer I SS crit other rogues for 1000 to 1300. I'll have to look at crit alert to see the exact number.
Anyhoo, homeroom is over. Now I have to go to my next class. So I will read and post when I get out of school. Its a cold day today. almost 50 below zero.
So I will be inside. Stinks, daddy won't let me use the snowmachine when it gets colder then 15 below zero. :(
Thank you again,
Carmen
